A judgeship in the Nathan's finals is available in United for Lung Cancer's charity auction. Bidding (minimum $300) will open tomorrow and close on November 17. The item page says the bidding is for the July, 4 2011 contest and is illustrated with a picture of Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi (who will probably not compete in the 2012 finals). Dave Baer the only principle in MLE that gives or gave a rats ass about BB bid for Seiken and he won the charity auction giving him a chance to judge the 2009 Nathans finals. God forbid one of the Sheas would alllow him to judge upon merit , Someone had to buy their way in for him to judge

Okay “anonymous”, you have already crossed the line. Your post belongs in the off-topic thread for a reason which is completely obvious. What’s up with you, you just do not seem to be able to sustain a promise for even a few hours.
On topic is that it is really a shame when people are sloppy about details and do not fully check what they are offering. While it may be known to anyone interested in Nathans that the 2011 contest has already happened, personally I would not bid on anything with errors of that kind including an old photo. If you are going to do a charity event, do it properly and professionally. There are lots of offerings, no excuse for sloppiness as the charity will lose out.

I would give a few bucks on the condition that they keep that photo.

Unless you are the administrator of this site mind you’re own biusiness. Did I hear someone elect you as the class monitor? You’re so called voice of constructive critismhas little if any credibility as long as you continue to post using a moniker such as hmm and puts limitations on you’re assumed role as the voice of reasoning. The man stated an opinion What’s wrong with that? How are you so sure it was seiken? Could have been a close friend. Next time before you accuse take a close look at yourself

Well Judgy Fruit and OJ……..let’s just move these posts to the off topic and combine all into one big Romper Room. I’ll add one here, love to see, who would be a better choice to complain about everything, who he judged, oh yes, it’s all about S. Move this now as in my opinion, it will only get worse and more. No impulse control whatsoever.

Semi-literate, barely coherent, near-foaming at the mouth posts are sort of a tip-off. Apparently, it’s hard to keep up the “journalistic” standards while you’re flipping out and non-posting on this site. Yeah, well… sure…it COULD be “a close friend.” Just maybe a really angry one
Tip #1: Don’t use words you don’t understand and can’t spell, like “principal.” Use nice little words that you know (but not those bad four-letter ones). LOL.

Was seiken blessed with the creme of the crop in the judging dept..? No .Even when presented with such an honor he had the dubious distinction of judging a fly by night Italian immigrant that couldn’t speak the English language and only ate 10 hot dogs. What an honor or better yet what a joke

Why wasn’t seiken allowed on stage? Why didn’t seiken get to judge sonya joey or pat ? Why why why??5

Whether seiken is banned from postkng or not there still seems to be a lack of comments as far as quantity and quality.

I respectfully disagree. Whenever we mention a legendary eater and class act like Seiken, quantity is inherent.

If they really wanted to make the item a success, they could have auctioned the bib Brian Seiken used during the 2003 pickle victory. It will be as valuable as an original Honus Wagner baseball card

Brian Seiken helps keep us in touch with reality. I value his input. I don’t want to live in fantasy land. Thank you Brian!!!!

S is always looking for bones, I knew that he would soon pollute another thread and so he has. I’ll match credibility monikers against yours anytime, stay up all night S and keep posting to keep your name on every comment, you just increase your look of idiocy. Just my opinion, I am entitled to it, it’s a free country, it’s my reality.

I can’t imagine someone actually paying that kind of money to be a Nathan’s judge. Normally they’ll let just about anyone do it for free, won’t they?

Good luck!: Being a judge at the big show is actually a big deal for some New Yorkers. For the wealthy it’s considered a kitschy experience they can tell their friends at the university club. I’ve seen doctors, lawyers, jounalists and many other professionals lining up. Of course it’s also sometimes offered as prizes by radio stations and even the MLE.
