The name “Soho” first appears in the 17th century. The name may possibly derive from a former hunting cry.[1] James Scott, 1st Duke of Monmouth, used “soho” as a rallying call for his men at the Battle of Sedgemoor on 6 July 1685, half a century after the name was first used for this area of London.[2][3]
The Soho name has been reused by other entertainment and restaurant districts such as the Soho, Hong Kong entertainment zone[4] and the cultural and commercial area of Soho in Málaga.[5] The New York City neighborhood of SoHo, Manhattan, gets its name from its location South of Houston Street, but is also a reference to London’s Soho.[6]

Apparently the bidding for this particular judgeship has ended. I hope they open more of these up for more charitable bidding.

Michelle Lesco is the queen of fundraising for clean water around her Nathan’s participation. I believe she has raised several thousands, probably over ten thousand.
