Nelson Peltz wins seat on Heinz board, hopes to increase marketing
Bloomberg.com reports that billionaire dissident investor Nelson Peltz was elected to the Heinz board of directors. Peltz wants Heinz to market more actively and said the company should spend $200,000 to cosponsor Nathan’s hot dog eating contest. One other Peltz ally was elected to the board. Peltz had hoped to gain five seats on the twelve person board.

With all the talk of what they should have spent in the past, especially w/the likely Kobe/Chestnut match race, I fully expect the $i$ter$ to pull $500,000. out of heinz while getting paid by Nathan’s & by ESPN & not paying the eaters sheeeet.
What a wonderful world??!

The eaters dont get paid sheeet for Nathans because they dont speak up. They have been sold on the idea that the glory and fame of being on ESPN for a few seconds overrides the fact that they are being exploited. Kobe Chestnut matchup is the only interesting aspect of the contest. The rest of them although good hot dog eaters dont have a chance of coming close to Chestnut Kobe numbers. On another note it is also getting quite dull watching people picking up checks of $1500 to $2000 competing in contests while others competing walk away with sheeeeeeeeeeet
