Joey. Based on last year he was one of only a few that went to 25 or more contests. I think the most anyone did was 28 or 30. Joey got 1st in more contests than anyone else did too. Since he is in the US competing he will beat Takeru in points with no problem unless Takeru starts coming over every other weekend. I seriously doubt that will happen. If anyone else from the US wants to take the points title from Joey, you are going to have to beat him. Either that or pray that he stops traveling to so many contests.

I voted for Pat Bertoletti becaue I foresee Joey entering less contests this year and Pat more. Also, Pat will sometimes finish ahead of Joey (as will Sonya Thomas), depending on the food.
Kobayashi is too smart to worry about points. It won’t matter where Koby is in the point standings, even if he’s not in the top 10. He is THE MAN and anyone who knows anythng about CE knows that.
Additionally, all eaters should hope and pray that he doesn’t establish his home base in the US. Just think about it, the foods he dominates in are not readily available in Japan for him to practice with. Can you imagine if he started practicing with specific contest foods?

One small problem with the point system which everyone seems to overlook. True it benefits the eaters that usually finish out of the money that are active in contest participation. These same people also put out thousands of dollars in airfare and hotels without being reimbursed. You might say the same applies for higher ranked eaters that have to lay out money also, but the difference is that they have a very good chance of finishing in the money so they will automatically get reimbursed in some form no matter what.

I think Dale Boone will have the most.
