I understand the IFOCE’s policy of wanting to protect their clients from other places wishing to glom onto an eaters fame to advance their product which could be a direct competitor to a client. However sometimes, I think they need to losen up. If it’s for a good cause, and they have a clients okay, and the event is not so much about the product (food eaten), I would hope the IFOCE might consider it. And, for eaters outside the New York area or major markets who would like to help out a local eatery and not a national chain. Sometimes those type of Ma and Pa restaurants are just looking for a little local attention and if the eater can help them out, that would be great. In the long run it might make the IFOCE look better, more compasionate in these tough economic times.
