I can understand folks heaving after a contest, due to acute sickness or physical ailment, which causes discomfort; doing so should be the exception and not the norm, however. Competing, with the full intention of purging afterwards is a manifestation of a psychological disorder for which help is needed.
I strongly suspect that at least half of the top 10, as well as the majority of the top 20, eaters do exactly that. The public knows this too—-they’re not all dummies—-which is one of the reasons the majority of them are totally disgusted by it, and why it can never be regarded as “sport.”

Rhonda,
I have to disagree with you.
I personally purge after a longer contest (8-12 mins), mostly because of discomfort, but also because the less calories my fat ass keeps off, the better.
I don’t purge in my daily life (which explains said fat ass) so there is a bit of a difference.

I remember after the Philly Cheesesteak contest a couple of years ago I was with BB(before his jealousy of me overwhelmed him)& he was searching for a place to throw up.I had no idea eaters did this at the time & was shocked. Now that I know some of the weird & sick things these creeps do it seems tame by comparison.

Will, you’re actually proving my point more than you are dismissing it, even though I WANT to be wrong. 🙁

Yeah I completely agree with Rhonda, going into a contest with the mentality to purge afterwards is a hefty mental disorder, especially when the purpose is for caloric freedom. If you don’t want to have to deal with the food then don’t put it in your mouth.
The only reason I could see going into a contest with full intentions to purge following justified is if the quantity or composition of the food is actually going to be harmful beyond fat gain. As an example, Joey CHestnut eats 68 Hot dogs in one sitting, there is no ‘safe’ way to digest all those salts and chemicals, and another example might be oysters, jalapenos or water training. I hate to say it Will but I don’t think you personally have even consumed a dangerous amount of food. I would take a check on what your doing to yourself.

@Rhonda – How does that prove the point? If I go on a personal binge, I don’t purge, I just say I screwed up and deal with it.
The disorder is in your mindset. If you’re bingeing and purging all the time to maintain a certain weight, or lose weight, then there is something going on. But purging as a side effect to CE is completely different. At least in my mind.

CE just to eat and vomit is disgusting, sick, inconsiderate, and wasteful.

No REAL eater reverses. It takes a true champion to shovel it, hold it, digest it, not use throat relaxers, and not throw it all up intentionally. Anyone who cant follow these simple rules is a fake.

Puking is a normal thing to do in everyday life, I love it.
