Why doesn’t the Post do an interview with me since every contest I competed in was a last place finish

8:02, 8:56, allow me to clue you in on a few things. It seems that an education is order. Fact 1) every one that is at that table at Surf and Stillwell on July 4th is already a champion. To earn that seat, you have to have won one of the qualifiers (which is no easy task). To do so requires dedication, preparation and the rigors of travel. I, personally, have driven over 12hours to compete, I know others have travelled further. So, coming in 18th *at the world championships* is nothing to look down at. Last time I checked that still makes you 18th in the world. Fact 2) Ms. DiBenedetto is a two time Coney participant. The list of multiple time competitors is a small one (about 100 people or so). So you sit here and scoff some one that has made it on to the biggest stage in competitive eating not once, but twice. A little respect, please. All of us that have the guts to stand at that table, be it Coney or anywhere else for that matter deserve no less than that.

Jay, well said. But, unfortunately, there exists no forum for respect on this site. It has been this way since this site has been in existence. It is a haven for the goons and dregs of competitive eating.

Jay, she ate 4 friggin hot dogs!!! Nobody who eats 4 hot dogs is a champion. The only reason she got to that table (twice), is because she’s a woman & MLE is desperate for women to compete, even if they suck. Her 15 minutes of fame (more like 15 seconds) is long over, she should show some grace & class & just fade away.
