The eatingcontest twitter says that there will be one Nathan's wild card awarded to the top non-winning competitor in the 2010 qualifiers.

    What the IFOCE should do in addition to the wild card is award one spot at the table to a ranked eater chosen by other eaters or the fans. That would give the guys who but thier as for the sport but come up short or can’t make it to some of the qualifiers a chance to experience the table at Coney.

    Chosen by the fans? The eaters are the fans. Beyond that, there are no fans. People watch, yes. But they watch because it’s on. Nobody pays attention to this shit. If you opened voting up to the fans, let’s say through this website or the IFOCE’s site, you’d have fifty people voting fifty times each, stuffing the ballot box. It would be a big joke.

    I think I would vote for Wild Bill, he seems to have a genuine love for the “sport”. I also think the CE following is growing at a slow but steady pace.
