I read that Seiken intends on paying Wingador a visit in prison sometime before thanksgiving sneaking in some wings for the former champ but Joe Menchetti is trying to talk him out of it claiming that Seiken might say something stupid and Wingador will take a swing at him which would add additional time to his sentence

“Only in Philly does a guy that won an eating contest going to jail make the front page.” Sounds like the eating contest he won occurred as he was on his way to jail.

If they allowed Mike Tyson to continue fighting after he brutally raped a young girl in Indiana, then there is no reason why Wingador cannot compete in a contest that is about as corrupt as pro boxing

All this is a circus. Wingador can’t and wont Beat Mcdonald.. That’s just the truth of the matter.. Anon 10:29 It looks like you’re the ringleader of the circus. The only thing corrupt are the way the MLE does there contests. Everyone keeps knocking Ape lol. You will never know how good some of those eaters are until the MLE lets them compete.. All the MLE contract does for them is make the Sheas money not the eaters. Even Nathan’s is getting boring to watch and that’s because they make sure that all there people make it in. I know there are a couple of eaters in Pittsburgh alone that keep trying to qualify but they keep turning them down. Like I said it’s all a circus here. I think more people are starting to enjoy APE more and more. I think the main reason is there totals are true and they dont leave half of the food in cups or on the floor….. They don’t let you dunk…

Dunking should be banned. APE is real competitive eating.

Sometimes dunking saves lives or at least drinking liquid is critical. Why does it have to be only one way? Isn’t Wingadoozey an independent? Crazy stuff. Tell all book?

The man is in prison. Whether he deserves a long prison sentence is up to the judicial system of that state. Some states like NYC might have been less harsh and given him community service. Other states like Fla or Indiana might have given him more than 7yrs. Trust me he is suffering .Regardless of how much time he spends there it is a nightmare he will live with for the rest of his life. They gave him somewhat of a break not mixing him in with the general population of violent offenders which he certainly does not deserve to be around. He can get seriously hurt or possibly killed if that were the case In a medium security prison its not like a Bernie Madoff country club which is minimum security, but he still has some priveledges he would never get if he was housed in maximum security

Simmons photo in the visiting room holding cell was removed from the article. I thought no cameras or cells are allowed?

APE is bush league. Truth is dunking and mashing is not allowed at many of MLE’s events with exception of Nathans. Which makes sense because its such a huge televised event that putting restrictions on it would only hurt the entertainment value. People come to see huge numbers put up and hotdogs eaten ridiculously fast not to see people cleanly eating and a slower pace. I don’t see anything corrupt about how MLE does its contests either. Yes, the contract does make money for the MLE and restrict them from what events they can enter while signed. However, in return it gives the eater the access to their contests and the potential to make more money if they choose. They may not get the full 100% but they are still getting a good chunk of it. If there was no MLE there would be far less contests and CE in general would suffer. If you compare their contests with APE they are not even in the same league. APE has much fewer contest. usually limited to the east coast, and award far less prize money. MLE contests draw much more publicity for both them and the eater. If you think the Sheas are robbing athletes blind then you are naive. It’s an organization structured much more around the business side of things and making money which allows it to thrive while APE remains stagnant and relatively unknown..

MLE has good eaters; but keep falsifying results which made people lose interest. Here’s an idea…report what the eater truly ate instead of multiplying it by two.

APE is down to 2 contests a year and by next year maybe 1. Time to dissolve the organization and hopefully some of the free agents can negotiate with MLE

Jam.Josh,Since Ape is no match for the MLE then why not open up Nathans instead of lying to the Pittsburgh eaters lol. The problem is other than the top 5 it’s all the same whether you want to believe it or not. Jamie and Molly can probably be in the top 5 in the MLE rankings but will never get the chance. The Shea’s make more money than you think. I would post some numbers on here but it will never see the screen….. I never seen a MLE contest without the use of water. Can you name a few????

@ EEE, Tamale’s in TX, Poutine in Canada, Brain Tacos in MN, and Twinkies in MS all had no dunking. Yes they could drink water but its just ridiculous to suggest that not be allowed for safety purposes (and picnic style does not prohibit drinking water).
I don’t know what you mean by lying to the Pittsburgh eaters. Nathan’s is open to all amateurs at qualifiers however spots are limited. Also, if your a professional APE eater then why should you be able to compete in an MLE event? I’m sorry if APE doesn’t have any large events but thats what you get when you associate with bush league amateurs.
Also, its debatable if Jamie and Molly could be in the top five. I don’t see them beating Joey, Matt, Miki, or Tim so there is only one spot left and I still don’t have confidence either would take it. It’s irrelevant anyways because they are the only ones keeping themselves out of MLE. If they really want to join they would just have to abide by the rules. If they don’t want to then that’s their choice.

this is not good. He is forced to share living quarters with other lowlifes in the same room . If he wanted to have sex he cant even bring in a prostitute unless the female CO wants to give him some. Not a good prospect at all . The worst part is the fact that he cant stuff himself with loads of wings ribs pizza meatballs and all the other delicious food he craves. I doubt he will do the full 7 but if there is a remote chance that might happen, his wife has her needs also. Do you think she is going to save herself for that sexy hunk o f a man and nobody else for 7 entire years ? I know i sure as hell wouldn’t

Jam.Josh I’m not saying the drinking of water should be prohibited. I just don’t think the MLE would have a rule of no dunking in there contests. Some food you can’t dunk. I never heard of the Shea’s saying you can’t dunk. As for Jamie and Molly I think they would crack the top 5 in the MLE. It’s just sad we will never find out. MLE decides whether you’re aloud to eat in their contests. They are not open for everyone to compete in. I know of two Pittsburgh eaters who tried to qualify in Pittsburgh but were turned away. They were told the
field was full and they would go on a list. But, I do know one of them signed there friend up from another computer the next day and got acccepted. Those eaters don’t eat for APE any longer. They just wanted to see how they would have done. If APE is such a bush league then they should have been permitted to qualify……. I’m not saying the MLE isn’t a stronger league, by far they are.
