    When certain eaters continue to compete when its obvious they are no longer in the limelight it means they refuse to let go even after getting crushed at the table by their younger adversaries Case in point Sonya Thomas and Miki Sudo. I think Sonya deserves a chance to regain her hot dog crown and if by some miracle she reclaims her title then we can safely say she is still a force to be reckoned with. If not i would suggest retirement. What’s the point of destroying even further what was once a legacy . On the other hand Badlands Booker pushing 50yrs of age seems to have aged like fine wine. He continues to put up outrageous stats at the table Another point to consider is he might be blessed with good genetics. One would assume that there is zero heart disease and zero diabetes in his family. With that said he could probably get away with consuming a ton of saturated fat nitrates and other ingredients that are no good for you but even with good genes nobody is invincible when it comes to your health. Other names such as Hardy Jarvis left the sport only left because they couldnt hang with Chestnut Bertoletti Shoudt Sonya and a few others. Jarvis was a multi title holder who didnt want to ruin his legacy by hanging around longer than he should have . After finishing in the back of the pack in grilled cheese finals in NYC which was something he rarely had to deal with, he smartened up and packed it in. Hardy also made the right choice by quitting. Although he finished strong in most of MLE events he never live up the Sheas predictions of becoming a multi title holder with the organization let alone one title. Yet if you ask Booker opinion , he strongly believed both had a lot of eating left in them. That might be true but they still would have gotten their asses handed to them by some of the names mentioned

    You make no sense. So you either win or retire? In that case there would be no reason to have any competitions at all.
