Some sad news: NOLA.com has an obituary for Boyd Bulot, who passed away from undisclosed causes on February 20. I spent a wonderful weekend with Boyd in Slidell several years ago and he could not have been more hospitable. What a wonderful personality – he will be missed.

Sad that some of these assholes who call themselves comp eaters mainly retired ones, will be dead before they reach 60. All that fat grease and shit they abused their bodies with will come back to haunt them. All for the love of the sport.

Sorry to hear about this. I never met him, but have heard several competitive eaters tell me nice stories about him and what an interesting guy he was. I think he still has the oyster record at Acme location in the french quarter.

That’s a real nice photo—-love the smiles. 🙂 I wish it were such that people got along as well as the photo portrays.
Respect for your fellow man costs nothing, and the rewards are priceless, and often come back to you multifold. That’s another way of saying what goes around comes around, and I don’t mean it in a negative way.
