Interesting how they used images of American eaters on the covers. The illustrated one is especially unflattering. Considering how popular CE is in Japan, I wonder why they didn’t use a picture of a Japanese eater? Royalty fees? An obsession with Western culture?

Or, um, maybe because the books are mostly about the American competitive eating scene.

You’ll find that many Asians, in general, embrace many aspects of American / western culture. This is especially true of the Japanese.
