SSNN on Kobayashi confusion
The Totally Serious Sports News Network has an article about Cleveland Indians pitcher Masahide Kobayashi being mistaken for someone else with that surname:
Needless to say, Kobayashi is already questioning whether signing with Cleveland was the best thing for him.
“Seriously, the fact that no one knew Kobayashi is a common Japanese name is kind of offensive,” he said. “It’s amazing to me that a team called the ‘Indians’ can be so racially insensitive.”

This is complete horse manure. I have been a die-hard “Tribe” fan since 1957, and I follow the team in an intense way, reading all the articles about them in two local newspapers. The pitcher (Masa Kobayashi) said NO SUCH THING about “racial insensitivity.” It is an invention by an ultra-liberal, politically correct, anti-Indians trouble-maker. The truth is that the majority of American Indians polled about the Cleveland baseball team are HAPPY that it is named “Indians.” The team’s nickname name comes from a late 1890s Cleveland Spiders’ [NL] player who was an American Indian. Speaking of polls, the majority of American Indians want to be called just that — not the ludicrous term, “native Americans.” My four grandparents were born in Europe, but I am a “native American” — born here in the U.S. of A.!

It’s a fake news website…like The Onion. I almost fell for it too, until I read his “Stupid Americans” quote.

Spoken like an ignorant American John. Bet you celebrate columbus day, or “native american” ethnic clensing day.
