“The Stomach” from “Meatballs” dies
The Saratogian reports that Peter G. Hume, a social studies teacher who played in the Canadian Football League, passed away at the age of 54 from natural causes:
He was friends with actors who got him a part in the 1979 Bill Murray comedy “Meatballs.” Hume played a character called “The Stomach” in several scenes including the famous hot-dog eating contest where he blurted his favorite line “What, no mustard?”
Another actor who competed in the “Meatballs” hot dog contest, Keith Knight, died in August from brain cancer.

I wish to express my deep sadness on the death of Peter Hume. He was one of our closest friends and came to visit us regularly in Northern Ireland. We will miss him dearly. I want to pass my sympathies on to Karzi and Sean. My thoughts are with you both at this very sad time.
May Peter rest in peace.
God bless.

I met Peter when he came to Belfast Northern Ireland in 2006. We all had tea in the Europa Hotel and he expressed his feelings of Northern Ireland and what a wonderful place it was. He was very interested in the history and politics of the country. I am so pleased to have met him. My sincere sympathy goes to the family. White light to him always.
