PhoenixvilleNews has an article on the wife of Rick "the Manager", Sherri Russo, who will represent Collegeville in the Mrs. Pennsylvania pageant in March. Like Ed "Cookie" Jarvis, Sherri Russo has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

    Of all places this should be the last place for anyone to open up or broadcast thier personal health issues unless the party involved has decided to let it become public knowledge,Even with that said doesnt it seem kind of odd that someone with an anonymous identity running an anonymous website take it upon themself to throw that in as part of a competitive eating thread?

    Anon and on. Both Rick and Sherri are active in the CE community and relevant to many Eaters here. If this were a post about Rick snow plowing during the last snowstorm, it would still be appropriate.

    There will probably be many posts that dont relate to you directly on this site and you should sit on your hands until you see one that does.

    Because OJ Rifkin has no direct contact with eaters this is his way of connecting with them by any means possible. If OJ can find facebook pages that dont require to add someone on as a friend then he will derive as much info as possible from those pages and report it on this site. It is called being selfish , hogging all the CE info he can get his hands on while leaving scrapes off barrel or bits and pieces for Beautifulbrian. Can’t get any classier than that !

    Whatever plethora of means or sources OJ uses, his devotion to, and reporting and tracking of CE is phenomenal!

    However, there is not a finite supply of CE news or angles to report on. Thinking otherwise is like saying there’s nothing to do or see in DC or NYC.

    I also think BB’s site offers a lot more than scrapes off the barrel. It speaks for itself.

    I am thrilled to be public concerning my bout with thyroid cancer and I think it’s great that Cookie has done the same. My heart goes out to him in his recovery. Thank you for posting my newspaper article on here for all to see! I’m very excited about my journey to become the next Mrs. Pennsylvania International and would be honored to appear as such at any eating event held in Pennsylvania if I am chosen! As I am the wife of Rick The manager and a huge fan of CE I believe this posting was very appropriate on this forum. Please keep your fingers crossed for me on March 20th and if anyone is in the Altoona area that weekend stop by, it’s your turn to cheer me on!
