After seeing the 1st 15 minutes, sadly it seems to capture the true “spirit” of the ifoce, I mean uoce. Particularly the “Shea” like character. It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve already filed a suit against cbs, etc.

This episode depicts a competitve eater as someone that is a loner and goes to hookers to engage in sex. The producers of this show should be ashamed of themselves for demoralizing eaters of the sport

To be fair, it is only a single portrayal. Compare this to the unfair number of corrupt cops and sadistic army officers depicted on TV and in films.

As sub-cultures go, I count myself as a Sci-Fi fan. Were I to conform to media’s stereotype, I should be male, bearded, bespectacled, obese, living with my parents, never leaving the house and surviving on pizza delivery. Well OK, I do wear glasses and I’m rather keen on the odd pizza…

Also in my entire career as a reporter, I have never had a superhero reveal their secret identity to me, been blackmailed by a gangland boss, bribed by a government official or had occasion to yell, “Follow that cab!”

I’m of the opinion that there’s no such thing as bad publicity, and this episode should be welcomed as further acceptance of competitive eating as a mainstream activity. Can’t wait until it’s shown in the UK!
