“1) Miki Sudo, 1st victory vs. Chestnut or Stonie since 2003”

    Should this be 2013?

Did you see MLE’s tweet: (from Miami, FL, btw):

    https://twitter.com/eatingcontest/status/668172856493277188

“Those calling @OMGitsMIKI edging @joeyjaws a major upset have NOT being paying attention. Ms Sudo has been close close close many times”

Miki’s win over Joey is the definition of an upset.

Now who are the people complaining they didn’t get it?

Sounds like MLE got it right here.

When you see a legend like Sonya finish 9th i think it’s time for her to pack it in. She had a great run was truly the first real champion female eater of this century and should be treated as such instead of being disrespected and accused by her contemporaries of cheating and leaving debris on her plates and on the floor . On another note it’s a crying shame that majority of the eaters that finished out of the money are not casino gamblers with the exception of Sonya and basically wasted their time and money making a trip out there

Gambling is a bad habit, just like playing the lottery. In the end, the house always wins. Plus, you get to breathe in a lot of second-hand smoke at the casinos.

I’d also rather have an event at a casino (indoors), where it’s not blazing hot, as opposed to a fair or festival.

As for Sonya, she ate more turkey this time (4.3 lb.) than she did when she won in 2005 (4.19 lb.).

Why didn’t Marcos go? Isn’t he from NYC? Or was he wait-listed? If he was wait-listed, I can understand that, as the Sheas wanting to send him a message for his venture away from MLE.

    Who is the MLE announcer:

Is that Mike Antolini or Richard Shea? Also, who was the black announcer they used to employ?

Why was the official tweet sent from Miami? Does George Shea or Sam Barclay control “@eatingcontest”?

Anyway, I prefer the navy blue jacket and matching shirts/ties that MLE announcers wear, as opposed to the loud jackets (green? red?) that Todd Greenwald wears.

In Nevada, the gambling capital of the world, smoking is allowed in all casinos:

Where are these mythical smoke-free casinos you speak of??

The Norwich Bulletin says the field size was 17. If that is accurate, there are 3 competitors without results.

This is Miki’s 3rd victory over Joey (2013 Chicago ribs, 2013 Buffalo Buffet Bowl) in 40 matchups

This what happens when you have MLE in CT sending MLE in Miami results to twitter. THey need to start acting like professionals.

OJ – I can confirm that it was a 14 person field not 17. The article has an error.

Ok, good enough. But the best casinos in the world and top poker players are in Las Vegas, Nevada. You’ll have to go there eventually to prove yourself.

No Lobster on the MLE menu, but next year’s events are showing up. Orlando Chili in February (sponsored by Northwestern Mutual this year), meat pies in March, bacon in June.
