Miki’s official total seems to be 38. The gambling over/under for winning total was 37.5, so anyone who bet the under is probably rather upset.
I have not been able to find list of which qualifiers are actually present in Brooklyn. Dee Martin is in Atlanta, so she will not bbe competing.

Miki tried oysters in Ireland and 5lost badly. In fact, they rarely report it. Most say she showed up drunk.. Miki would never go against Sony In a competition Sonya could win. She hates Sonya too much. But no one knows why. They think it’s because Sony a kiced the LeFerves asses so many times they became jealous and set the other Nenadan Miki against her. Who knows. What,s funny is Miki probably never would have become a competitive, like most girls, without Sonya making it a public interest. Yet, not even once would Miki give any credit or admiration to Sonya. It’s thatkind of ego and self absorption that fails to get her the attention she craves. Narcissistic attitude that she now justifies calling in a bomb threat on 911. I feel very strongly that Sonya held back this year and last. Here’s why: Sonya already has 3 Nathan’s belts, and has the women’s record of eating 45 HDBs, so it’s not like she needs further acclaim. Miki, on the other hand is a starving artist, so to speak. Yet, ironically, Miki can ill afford all the attention that she is addicted to.
Sonya knows that. She’s not stupid. So I say Sonya wins even when she “loses.”

955 regarding Miki’s day job, I would recommend TSA security threat advisor. Miki sure figured out a way to get by officials after calling in a bomb threat. Hell Shes even made a profit out of being convicted of a felony. The folks in Nevada love her so much, they named a day after her. Maybe Nevadans can also name day for all the people who lost their flight thanks to Miki closing down the airspace on the 10 year anniversary of 911.

I have been involved in the sport for close to 18yrs. Have witnessed all the rivalries between Jarvis & Booker fighting it out for title supremacy. The pickle wars i had with Krazy Kevin , Krachie Nakajima and the legendary Kobayashi. There were a few female eaters in the sport before Sonya but their eating skills were primitive to say the least . Sonya was to competitive eating as Helen Gurley Brown was to womens lib. A true pioneer in a sport dominated by male species . That alone should set her apart from the rest . The other night i was watching ESPN 30 for 30 Sugar Ray Leonard Roberto Duran documentary. I picked up some incredible similarities between the both of them with Sonya & Miki. Duran grew up in poverty stricken Panama and saw Leonard as the golden boy looking to move in on his territory. Duran made no bones about tearing this guys lungs out , while giving Leonards wife the finger and calling her a whore . Although Sonya would never stoop that low (gotta love the 80;s fights) for publicity you cant help but wonder what she was thinking when all of a sudden the golden girl Marcia Brady is gunning for her titles. If i was in her shoes i certainly wouldnt be thinking roll out the red carpet for my new heir apparent is coming to town . The same way Ali needed Frazier and Leonard needed Duran to insure their legacy , Sonya and Miki need each other to cement that same legacy. I admire the both of them for adding excitement to a sport in which i thought was losing its appeal but in retrospect gave it new life. I have no idea if Sonya still has the desire to try and regain her title after losing two years straight to a very vibrant and talented new comer or if the multi title holder of 12yrs has had enough. One thing is for sure you will never hear Sonya Thomas repeat those infamous words “No Mas” while competing in Coney Island on the 4th of July

Worst national media coverage and national attention following a Nathan’s contest girls contest ever — not doing the rounds of morning shows, no real mention of Miki the bomber in national press. ESPN gets down on the leagues when the league doesn’t properly ban, sanction, or suspend athletes for being bad. Yet, when it comes to Miki Sudo, ESPN thinks Sudo’s cool for being convicted of calling in bomb threat to an Airline on the 911 10 year anniversary. ESPN now has no credibility reporting on The Pete Rose scandal, Rice Scandal, Fifa scandal, I could go on. At least in those scandals, ESPN mentioned the moral delema of reporting on a athletic event that morally challenged athletes were involved in.
