Perhaps a chart again of earnings by MLE eaters or all eaters by the years 2008 – 2011 would give us a good look though people’s income tax returns would be even better. This is gross income, not net. If the eaters were to list, and I am sure that they keep track for tax records, of their disbursements, well, that is a different story. Not expecting truth in figures here, eatfeats can only go by what is reported. Nevertheless, most of the time these big figures are thrown out by MLE and the eaters themselves. And lots of people buy into this, hook, line and yes sinking…..into fantasy. Joey, yes, he has earned a lot including what surely is not reported except on his income tax. I think MLE would be surely sending out tax forms to their eaters. Time for MLEGate.

Are MLE eaters considered employees of MLE? Does MLE pay Social Security to their eaters’ accounts? If not, they are really making out.

anything like this wouldn’t be an employee. trust me taxes are paid on any prize from one company if over $600, company must
send eater a 1099. I’d expect MLE to just be the promoter and checks come from host

I’ve written to the IRS about Major League Eating, their eaters, and their earnings. Should be a special interest item this year.

Don’t be ridiculous. Of course eaters are not employees, they do not work full time. They are “consultants” and get 1099 forms, at least I think that is what they are called. Next thing you know you are going to be insisting upon other perks….like MLE should pay for eaters health insurance and give them a gym……..well, keep dreaming, or are you just trying to stir up hornets. My gut says you are a hornet. MLE eaters have full choices, they can join or walk away just like everything else in life, except prison.
