Most of these short bursts of eating various foods in a few seconds are not really competitive eating, because the events are built around a person’s asserted ability, versus the talent conforming to the existing rules of the existing sport.
Many of these quick displays would be the equivalent of someone seeing how many times a novice baseball player could swing a bat completely around in say 10 seconds. They’re nice conversation topics for a dull evening, but that’s about it.
