Anyone who looked in the trays could clearly see that Reeves finished 3rd and Subich was a close 4th. Everyone else had tons of leftover food in their trays. Reeves and Subich had almost nothing left. Either eaters are weighing stuff themselves or they’re making up their own numbers.

Yes I said I finished 4th on my Facebook page because I did. Anyone with any eyesight at all could see that Jim Reeves and I were fighting for 3rd and 4th. When time was stopped the only thing I had in my tray were a few chicken tenders. Other eaters who allegedly finished higher than myself had food all through their trays. One eater in particular had two pieces of pizza, chicken tenders, two roast beef sandwiches and a cannoli still left in his tray. To say the people doing the weighing were incompetent would be to give them too much credit. Some eaters just gave their “totals” to Wild Bill and no one actually saw their trays get weighed. Bottom line, George Shea brough Jim and I to the front of the stage to announce 3rd and 4th because there wasn’t even a question as to how much food was left in either of our trays, which was almost none. If any of the guys who “finished” ahead of me disputes this, step up and say you finished ahead of me, but the bottom line is, they know they didn’t, and I guarantee you won’t see a one of them put up any compelling argument or comments to the contrary because the know the truth. There was also one eater who “finished ahead” of me that openly admitted to me there was no way he beat me after looking at our trays and I appreciate that. And I’m sure there will be some jerk off who will ask if anyone checked my cups, I invite anyone at anytime to check any of them so bring it on!

I agree with you the judging up there in Buffalo has always been shoddy, I know I had a taste of the judging a few times and got burnt myself.

Keep in mind that the only eaters that are officially “judged” are the top 3. The rest of us just get weighed for our own information. It was just one of the girls who worked the contest letting us weigh out trays. But, I agree there was something really wrong. Brian’s tray was almost empty. I had less food left than a couple of people who beat him. Oh well, at least no money was involved.

Don, everytime you post on this site it’s another complaint about an injustice that was bestowed upon you back 7 or 8 yrs ago. Do you think anyone cares if the judges handed you the shaft job in Buffalo in 2003? Be grateful IFOCE is preserving your bologna and baked bean titles preserving both like Bob Marley & Joseph Stalin . They could easily hold a contest in either or both food categories and give you a real screwing over

In response to where the eaters finished in this contest, there was some very obvious but rightful questioning. As we all seem to know, the weights are always questionable both during the preparation and then the confusion that often happens after the contest.
One thing that’s clear is the 4th place finish of Brian Subich. He & I have our little rivalry but I saw his tray before it hit the scale and it had very little food left. He may even of had less then Buffalo Jim. George Shea saw this while getting ready to announce the top 4 and had their trays rushed back for weighing. From what we learned, the last minute assembled female helpers were clueless on how to add & subtract. Brian was cheated on his showing, even if it was not a matter of money. Perhaps some of the eaters did the weighing themselves and bypassed the girls when they are all over the place and not where they were supposed to be; THE F**CKING SCALE! Only the eaters at the table who saw for themselves can honestly say although you hating a**holes are going to give your opinion anyhow. The system sucks!
FYI: Brian & I talked to the Wing Zone people who are responsible for the saucing & weighing of the wings. The main guys, who are always very gracious to us at their tent, were fine with us monitoring the scale during the wing prep. When we went to the area, we saw a different duo doing the prep just as they wrapped the foil over a tray that was one ounce below what the tray was supposed to be. When we said hello, the woman lifts the foil and throws 2 wings into the tray. Then the guy that was there became a real prick telling us he knows his job and that we need to leave. We’re just trying to do the right thing for the benefit of all the eaters. They do not understand the importance of exact weight. Someone needs to do a check at the scale. How about a commissioner?

It truly takes a real man to step up and admit that another man bested him on the day….even when he is given a higher total! Kudos to the US Male!! US Male is 100 % correct. I vowed never to post here again. Really why should i? Does OJ Rifkin ever acknowledge my site anymore? So why the hell should i give him attention by posting. Forget that comment for a moment. I didnt come here for that. I am happy that US Male finally echoed what i have been bitching about since 2005. I never proclaimed to be a great wing eater but in the two buffet bowls i entered in 2005 and 2008 i ate my ass off and my final results were startling to say the least. Some fly by night one hit wonder was emcee the 2005 buffet bowl while Sonya Subich and few others were competing the next day in Ohio and Jacksonville . which left us with a field of 5. I was smoking my way through the entire tray with the crowd on my side only to finish dead last with 5.25 lbs behind Jarvis, Booker, Reeves and Shoudt. 3 of the 5 names actually stopped for a moment to watch me eat thinking “could a miracle of this magnitude really be happening “? But of course it wasnt meant to be. In 2008 i ate 3lbs of the worst shit. footlong hotdogs chicken salad cold roast beef sandwiches and some other crap. and still came in next to last beating Subich and some other guy. Brian might have finished ahead of me but the idiots in charge of weighing threw his remains out without his knowledge. US Male and Brian Subich saw what i had suspected all along when they snuck into the tent . Extra wings placed in certain trays just goes to show you something is not kosher and never was. Wouldnt surprise me if those name tags placed in front of each tray in past buffalo fests meant alot more than what it appeared to be .Get the picture? BTW if you want to avoid future bullshit , Ed Cookie Jarvis for commish . Bye bye

Is there a way that the the eaters can self govern contests to assure a fair result. Every eater has a vested interest in the contests they enter. Hard earned money out of their pockets for travel expenses and in some cases time off of work. Leaving the judging up to random people who are clueless is slap in the face of these eaters.
Digital scales are relatively cheap and most run on batteries. If it is a “by weight contest” like the wings were, it’s VERY simple, weigh each tray before the contest – and weigh each tray after. Simple math for most and then use those numbers. Let the eaters self govern the before & after weigh ins. TRUST me – they will hold each other acountable and will be honest. They all want a fair contest. They CRAVE a fair contest.
MLE is growing and it’s time that they step up and take care of their atheletes. Leaving any kind of judging to random unaffiliated people needs to stop immediately.
