The fields for the Buffalo Wing Festival eating contest and Buffet Bowl contests have been listed. Joey Chestnut, Sonya Thomas, Miki Sudo, Eric "Badlands" Booker, Michelle Lesco, Jim Reeves, Yasir Salem and Steve Hendry some competitors expected to participate in both contests.

Certain people that were wait listed got a spot and others didnt. Total bullshit . I hope Sonya kicks ass and a few others who name i wont mention, fall flat on their face

Sorry to hear that some people got waitlisted. I guess it has to be, as long as it was done fairly, and who knows what fair is. I do not expect Chestnut to win.

What a shame that someone who won a fake wing eating contest and received a car he doesn’t deserve won’t be able to prove how great a wing eater he is in Buffalo. Check that . He tried that already 3 or 4yrs and never finished in the money

Finally MLE got it right and leave BB out of this contest so real competitors can enjoy this contest; he would have come up with some bs excuse for not going cuz he would finish in last behind the best and unranked armatures alike

BB doesn’t mind that he was left off the roster. Its a big trip not worth the time and effort . Seiken interviews in the past were legendary and for those who think eaters dont want any part of him or his camera thats a bunch of lies coming from horse shit haters. Its Seiken that doesnt want to do the interviews anymore and not the other way around.

Even someone who only graduated from thre sixth grade can see that it is stupid for most of the competitors to compete in Buffalo. Except for perhaps the top two finishers in each contest, all others will incur a net loss after travel and lodging expenses are deducted. Even Juliet Lee, a solid top 10 eater is staying away. She has more sense than most of the other eaters/dreamers. MLE and WingFest is making out, however. I am sure they thank all of you.

Everyone’s opinion is valid for them but many eaters, maybe most, are not doing competitive eating for the money. If they were, they would be living in a dream world and always be disappointed. No one forces anyone to be in a contest. It is a hobby. People pay money to do hobbies of all kinds. Lots of eaters really do enjoy meeting other eaters and their families and friends and having a good time. They can still be fierce competitors at the table.

Sure, spend a couple of hundred or a thousand to meet friends and families? Join a social club or a fraternity if you want that feeling of socializing.. Most that show up are going for their own personal reasons. Landrich & Reeves because they live a block or two away from the stadium which makes sense . The Sheas and Drew Cerza for the most bizzare reasons unknown to mankind ,think that Booker rapping is gods gift to the music industry. They give him the red carpet treatment every year for jumping on stage for 2hrs or more “Put your hands in the air ” Put your hands in the air Give me a break ! Wild Bill finally came to his senses realizing that his self appointed unpaid assignment as official stat man is not worth the travel expense from PA to Buffalo . Without Notorious BOB where is going to split car expenses. Conti only motivation is an after party . in an attempt to get Sudo very drunk. Then you have those select few that email the Shea every single day after they were waitlisted until they finally gave in and found a spot for them. Like the previous poster stated. If you have no chance of winning stay the hell home unless its walking distance from where you live
