These numbers have never made sense. The range is too great year to year. It’s like if Nathan’s were won with 30, 60, 30, and 60 four years in a row. Something is weird.

I agree 457, it’s like Juliet coming in with a minus total at the Crawfish event that won by US Male a few years ago. Strange shit.

The ribs numbers in Nevada are a little weird too.

I think the problem is people make math mistakes, especially since they are rushed to get the results.

I think you are correct 533. Professional organizations are not supposed to make basic mistakes as often as they do, in any “sport”, if you wanna call it that. Its like they don’t really care, as long as they come up with a result.

I also remember some years ago Booker was credited with 40 dogs and buns in a qualifier. Yet, he was credited with less than 30 in the finals a month later.

Remember Dr. Chip Simpson? He quit after the corn contest years ago, because of the erroneous counting. He should have won, but he lost. Remember Dr. Juris Shibayama? He quit after a Krystal qualifier in which Juliet finished with an unofficial count of 80 but had so much debris that her total was reduced to 55 to tie her with Shibayama. She should have been DQ-ed,but she was allowed to eke out a victory over Juris in OT. No eater eats perfectly cleanly, but when there is that much of a deduction there should be a disqualification. This shit happens year after year. Yet, I think MLE wants competitive eating to become an Olympic Sport. Its so ridiculous it is not funny. I find it not ironic that the two most formally educated people quit MLE after only a couple of years.

I think Joey or Matt might eat 45 or 50 pounds next year.

Thanks Math School. I agree. The judges need to take their time to get proper results, even if the crowd is anxiously waiting.

same eaters win all the time while the rest waste time and $$$

Best eaters should win. It is ridiculous for those finishing out of the money to complain, especially knowing who is going to be there ahead of time, whereby they could have saved their money and time by not showing up. Instead of complaining, either improve or stay home. But the onus is on MLE to ensure results are accurate, even if slowly calculated.

It’s been said before, the food quality can make a BIG difference. Read the piece about why the 2013 numbers were so high. “It’s definitely more than I was expecting but considering that they were cooking it right on site, the super-warm gravy — extra, everything was thinned out because of the rain — it makes sense,

Or Chestnut on ribs. “This year I had to work a little bit more. This year I had to drink a little more water.”

I just had Smoke’s poutine at the Los Angeles location recently for the first time. It was extremely delicious, but it was incredibly rich and salty at the same time. Though it is a fairly soft food in terms of eating it quickly, I think the richness of it would quickly become overwhelming in a contest. So it’s very impressive to me how people can trudge through and put up such big numbers on that sort of food.

A certain very low ranked eaters totals were always accurate since it is easy to count to 11 or add to 1lb.

Must be referring to the hollowed out trophies that were unjustly given to a resident of Plainview LI. Please do the right thing and give them back

Kevin Ross is a great eater. He should have been ranked higher in MLE, but they put too much emphasis on Nathan’s, where Kevin does not excel.

Kevin Ross is a fuckin legend and don’t any of you forget that. His image should be front and center on that joke of fame that encompasses Coney Island

Ross is without question a much better eater than Conti yet the first face you see on that wall of shit is Conti. Explain that one ? Hmm ? Hmm ? Hmmm?

Why does 49kin care where people reside? I guess so he doesn’t forget when he plans his next stalking outing.

i can ask the same question. Why does Shortstein care so much about where Seiken goes or where he resides ? I guess the male stalker or better yet female stalker will still mention Seiken name long after hes removed from the rankings

  23. anonymous said

    October 4, 2015 @ 9:15 pm

If you notice the outcome of these contests are of no interest to Shotstein unless Seiken competes so he can laugh at his totals regardless of where he finished/ No wonder his dead beat dad walked out on him He saw the writing on the wall I gave birth to a son who stalks middle aged men
