Wow just wow loads of made up inflated totals from 5th place on down. Some people feel the need to elevate themselves just to fool themselves . If it makes you happy then whatever

The hot dogs at Coney are perfectly grilled not sitting around in the sun like other qualifiers in syracuse and citifield so it would make sense for a mediocre eater male or female to generate higher numbers.

Certain spots at the table are reserved for certain eaters because those spots have the grilled to perfection dogs . Deliberate indeed to insure the high profile eaters totals are inflated . Chestunt Dareen Esper Stonie as examples get the filet minon tasting dogs while thie others get the rubbery extra salty dried out dogs that taste like they been lying there for hours

Is it really possible for hot dogs to taste like filet mignon?

Well, this year’s showing might bring the ladies program down to ESPN the Ocho for next year. Following the World Championships of Squirrel Water Skiing. Need Sonya back to make the field only semi interesting…

Sonya had been eating competitively for 15+ years, though she slowed down a lot in the last half decade, probably due to age, a lack of desire, a lack of it being fun anymore, and perhaps even health concerns. After all, she didn’t begin eating competitively until her mid- to late-30s, and 15 years is a long time. She’s over 50 now.

During her tenure she piled up a s**t load of wins along the way, probably around 40-50. (OJ might know. I’m too lazy to look at the eatfeats database.) In the first 10 years or so, Sonya routinely won against or finished ahead of her top-ranked male peers. She did for women’s competitive eating what the great Kobayashi did for the sport as a whole, though she gets little to no credit for that.

Had there been no Sonya Thomas in MLE, I strongly doubt we’d have as many females in the sport today, at least four of which–Molly, Miki, Michelle, and Juliet (and Sarah is coming up nicely)–are very special, talent-wise.

Whatever Sonya does from here on, I wish The Black Widow the best!
