$5,000 “8th Wonder” challenge at Clinton Station Diner
A picture of a list of burger challenges offered by the Clinton Station Diner can be viewed on flickr. $5,000 will be awarded to a team of 10 diners that can finish the “8th Wonder” burger (listed at 105 pounds) in an hour or less.

Impossible. That’s about 10 pounds per person, and while there are probably a few top-ranked eaters who can put away a 10 pound burger in an hour, you won’t find 10 people who can do it as a team.

After looking at the menu, the “Zeus” challenge actually looks very doable: three people must finish a 12 pound burger (total weight) in one hour and the team gets $500. That’s “only” 4 pounds per person.

Sorry for the repeat postings (I’ve been dormant for awhile and I’m making up for lost time). I found a pic of the Zeus burger (link below) and it looks like the buns are pretty much the same crusty, dried out mess they were when I tried eating the five pound Atlas two years ago. Those buns are, without a doubt, the WORST hamburger buns I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating (among giant and normal sized burgers). Soooo dry and the crust is incredibly thick. You can rap your spoon on the bun and it sounds like you’re hitting a hard hat. No kidding…I did it.
