Don “Moses” Lerman to undergo foot surgery Dec 8

Don “Moses” Lerman announces in his blog that he will have the tumor on his foot removed on December 8. He does not report if the tests have come back to determine if the tumor is malignant, but he is optimistic that he will be able to return to competitive eating soon after the surgery.

    Don, my prayers continue for you.

    I can say I know what you are going through. Last December they removed a cancerous tumor from over my right eye. After a few months of chemo they thought it was gone. For the last couple months my doctors were talking hip replacement. The pain was increasing in my lower back and spine. Shots and pills were not working so they did an MRI and CAT Scan. Last week the results showed a 6.2 cm by 2.6 cm tumor near my hip and pelvis. Looks like the cancer has spread to my lower back. Next hospital trip is Nov 13.

    So I know what you are going through. This battle is not easy and one must remain strong to try and survive.

    My thoughts and prayers continue for you and your family. I hope we can meet sometime in the near future and toast our victories.
