more of a question than a comment. does an eater have to have an ifoce contract to get into a qualifier? i saw last year that one of the winners of the qualifier never ended up competing on the 4th. according to wiki contestants must be with the ifoce. what about qualifiers?

Cutter – No, speaking from personal experience, you do not need to hv an IFOCE contract in order to get into qualifiers.

chances are you talking about one of the Military guy who won one of the two exclusive qualifiers for military men or women. Nathan’s usually has some sorta qualifier for a military/firemen /fan type of deal.
So if you your asking outside of that, then yes, you would most likely have to sign a contact if you made the finals, as for the qualifiers they pretty much let any regular Joe off the street sign up.
