Dog food eating in “Good Times”
There is at least one instance of dog food eating predating Don “Moses” Lerman’s Wing Bowl qualifying stunt. It was in one of the episodes of the second season of the 1970s sitcom “Good Times”
In one of the second season’s comic centerpieces, the Evans family avoids eating a neighbor’s meatloaf because they think it’s made with dog food. The scene is played as hilarious farce, but the acknowledgment of a poor old woman living on dog food gives the sequence an underlying bite.
MosesNews.com has a post about the dog food controversy

Don stole the given name of the great prophet Moses! That’s unforgivable.

don what exactly do you want? i think everyone here knows what you did for ce back in the day, and i bet we’d all give you props for it. but don then is not now. yes you were the man in the early days but ce has moved on and passed you by. there is nothing wrong with that because you laid that early foundation that others have continued to build on. it is common for early creators to get passed by as other people get involved. evolution. again what exactly do you want?

What does he want?
1. He wants to be the only eater in competitive eating noone else should exist
2. He wants a don lerman shrine and a tickertape parade and other fantasy crap that only exists in the mind of don lerman
3. If he had it his way he would be more than content to compete against himself with the Shea’s promoting him all over the United States
4, When he gets a bug in his head its worse than the bubonic plague. His main objective is to get the shea’s to throw him a huge retirement party with a massive trophy included and then after a few weeks he will decide he is coming out of retirement once again. Now does that answer your question?

Don you have been great. Verbally, you’ve been in the stages of less is more, however, now, on this site, for several months. I want all my memories of your outstanding accomplishments to be untainted. Please don’t color them as such.
Your feats of the past already speak volumes. When you relentlessly push them in people’s faces, however, they lose their luster and you become offensive, distained, and unappreciated. That’s not what any Don Lerman fan wants. That’s not what I want.
I want my memories of you to forever shine. Let them Don. Please. Thanks. Rhonda.

You all criticize Don, but it is you all who start the goading. Don Lerman is a legend in competitive eating and you all must get something out of disrespecting him. He has set a record in competitive eating in the last year. That is not what I would call the past or back in his day. What is being pushed in people’s faces is the disrepect for a great competitor. If you don’t want to hear him defend himself, then don’t goad him.

The only negative thing I ever said to, or about Lerman (before the last month) was in Buffalo when he was wearing a Yellow cowboy hat & a Red sport coat & Wings & I told him he looked like a gay cowboy. He said something to the effect of, if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything. I thought I was being kind, in letting him know how foolish he looked, so he could possibly change, but thats Lerman for you.
BTW- I use my “real” or at least, known name!

i have to agree with Gentleman JOe, Lerman’s site is all about Lerman . The comments are from moronic alias’s such as sol levy or meyer greenberg. One has to wonder if the comments praising Lerman are Lerman himself. Lerman , if you want people to flock to your site the first thing you must fix up is grammar and spelling . It is the pits! Bad spelling is almost like taking a dump and forgetting to wipe your ass or leaving the house without shaving. I hate to be blunt but misspelled words make you look like a real ass. And please cut the excuse that it’s late at night and you forgot to put on your reading glasses. For once in your life can you stop with excuse after excuse and just say “I will do my best to fix the problem”
