This young man is a class act and one of the few out of town eaters we dont mind invading and winning on our home turf . His Shea story is told from the heart as is most of his blogs. I frequent his site often and enjoy his commentary. Great job Erik . I was rooting for Allen but you gave an equally gutsy performance. Good luck at Coney

After being at Shea it was pretty clear that Pat from Moonachie was treated like a second class citizen.
From the minute he was announced (not even as a top contender) stuck on the end of the table. If it wasn’t for Badlands Booker keeping a close eye, Pat would have never even made it to the OT.
First of all I know for a fact that Erik the Red had more hot dog debree around his mouth and on his plate after the OT. I have the video to prove it …and as far as Stubich he was spitting out hot dogs, crushing them in his hands doing anything he could to other then to shove them down his mouth.
beautifulbrian did get one thing right. they gave it to Erik because he came all the way out from Seattle.
Just imagine that long flight home losing in OT.
All I know is that Pat is a nice guy…Maybe too nice. The Pat from Moonachie I know was a fierce competitor on the football field and on the wrestling mat ,winning several titles. I ‘ve seen Pat hit a baseball over 400 ft in a babe ruth game. He always had an edge and I can see it carrying over into the IFOCE, like when he shocked the eating world two years ago in Philly. Not taking anything away from Erik and Goldstien, two great competitors in the sport, However I truely believe Pat consumed more dogs then anyone last Sunday at Shea.

I find it hard to believe with 10 plus competitors at a table, a person is solely focusing on one person. I stood between Pat and Brian. I believe both men ate the totals they did. I was just a bit ahead of Brian thru the whole competition. As for Pat In the begining, I think I was abit ahead, but Pat has such a smooth style, that while I was laboring, he was passing me out and putting up a great number. All the Eaters at Shea Stadium did a great job.
Erik won fair and square. Allen and Pat put personal bests.
