P’Zone exhibition results

A press release about today’s P’Zone exhibition is available.

Chestnut, the #2-ranked eater in the world, consumed 4.82 pounds of P’Zones, six times the amount eaten by Marivic Stewart, the upstart rookie, who could only stomach ¾ of a P’Zone, or .8 pounds. Marivic won the right to compete against Joey, as well as an all-expense paid vacation to New York, after submitting photos and an enthusiastic essay to Pizza Hut’s “Dare You to Still Be Hungry” contest in mid-June.

Kobayashi served as judge. Tim Janus was also present.

Liz, from the picture… its looks like the p’zone winner (Marivic Stewart) is a girl.

You’re right, Jake. I was assuming it was a guy, and could of sworn that I read the word ‘he’ last time. But, no, after reviewing, everything about the winner remained ambiguous. The picture shows a woman with Tim, Takeru, and Joey.

Hot! And you’re totally right: those things are huge. Like really too big to be a single serving of food. Though if I were eating against Joey, I think I’d have to finish at least one as a matter of pride.

I was at Pizza Hut for dinner last week and had a P’zone all by myself… and a bunch of chicken wings for an appetizer. Does that make me a glutton?

Liz, did you submit a video? I bet if you took a P’zone and put it somewhere in your bunnette video, you would have won.

I didn’t know PIzza Hut had officially released the results. I have video of the event and didn’t want to release that before Pizza Hut released the “official” video… hereby losing all of my future “media” priviledges… 🙂

But I was there and the competitor (she) had just under a P’Zone. although i thought she ate more. Joey would have probably eaten a ton more if it was more than 6 minutes.

But I’m surprised in general by the lack of spectators of the event. You would think Pizza Hut would’ve wanted a crowd in the room. Or outside. But I’m actually happy it was kept intimate and small. Had a good chance to talk with Joey and Crazy Legs before hand…the whole atmosphere was relaxed in general. Definitely not a “competitive” driven contest…more of a promotional gimmick for Pizza Hut. But job well done by them to get Joey, Koba and Conti/Janus in the room together. I was truly among greatness.

Although for the record, I would’ve given Joey a better run for his money than she did..but it was a promotional contest…and didn’t want to “embarass the champ”…haha.
