Registration will open later today for the Wonderful Pistachios Get Crackin' Eating Championship to be held in Santa Monica on February 26. A press release lists Joey Chestnut, Geoff Esper, Miki Sudo, Nick Wehry and Gideon Oji as expected entrants. This probably implies that Joey Chestnut has extended his MLE contract and dropped plans for a rematch with Takeru Kobayashi.

    Joey is retired . There using his name to draw interest. They did the same thing at the Bagel eating contest .

    I don’t know about the world tour with Kobyashi but Joey did no appear at Bagelmania though they listed him as a competer.
