A page called “Sonya’s View: A Peek Inside the Web” has been started on SonyaTheBlackWidow.com. The initial column concerns Sonya’s relationship with the IFOCE/MLE:
Oftentimes when I visit various competitive eating- (CE-) related Web sites, regarding some of the differences between Major League Eating (MLE) / International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) and independently affiliated CE organizations, I ask myself where I feel I belong. That question was easily answered in the past, as no organization could have treated me any better than the most highly esteemed IFOCE — and the people in that organization — as they continue to be the best of the best!
Does that mean that there have not been challenges? No, not at all, as is the case with anything in life. But since life is about variety and broadening one’s experiences, I look forward to the possibility of new relationships and new challenges.

Interesting insight from Sonya. She may just be acknowledging that she’s “thought about it.” Nice to see that she claimed her allegiance with the IFOCE because they treated her so well (and not saying “that’s where the money is bee-otches!”). Although that could be what she was referring to.

It is obvious Sonya Thomas has been treated very well by the IFOCE. I wonder, though, how she feels about their history of treating many others unprofessionally. As much as the IFOCE is about variety, challenges and developing relationships, it is equally about discrimination, unfairness and deciet

Tom G i could not agree more. As long as they have the power of manipulation and intimidation everyone will fear them. Has anyone ever taken them to court and lost or won ? . Its funny, they talk about Sonya being bullied or Joe Menchetti being a bully. The IFOCE and Sheas can be classified as the same shoving a contract in your face with an ultimatim attached to it. Discrimination in the organization is a matter of one’s personal opinion and has to be proven but it is certainly well documented that unfairness and deciet are a mainstay in the IFOCE.

Mega Munch,Tom G. and I agree,you all have intelligent insight,and different opinions,which is appreciated,even if someone doesnt agree with you,it is always good to know different views from different sources,personally i like to know the positive and the negative of situations,so thanks,i dont defend the I.F.O.C.E. for anything,i dont know much about them yet,im a rookie,all i know is i have been treated fantastic and very professionally,and everyone i have encountered has been awesome to me,but like i said i dont know them like some of you do,so i dont even get involved in that topic……..now as for people like Anonymous and Peace,it seems that if they put more time into trianing and less time complaining about Sonya,then maybe they would advance in CE and not be so bitter,and yes Peace i have meet Sonya,in Houston for the Kolache World Championship,and she was super cool and informative,she and others,Joey,Pat,Bob.Hunt,Jason all answered my stupid rookie questions,and all were very helpful,even when im sure they were like who is this dude? I cant speak for Farooq,but as far as i am concerned,i dont like people talking shit about someone,when they are not here to defend themselves,especially when it is a small girl like Sonya,you guys are real badasses….and once again if you would like to put your money were your mouth is,i will be in Dallas for Waffles 10-07-2007,and i will pay your entry fee,no problem….have a nice day

SyKoBOZO (David), thanks for sticking up for Sonya and yourself. As a regular visitor here (through the week, anyway), I can tell you that most all (with very few exceptions) of the moronic comments you read are from neither Major League eaters (IFOCE members) nor independent members.
The rare times they do post they use real names and they don’t kick others to the curb; they don’t have to, because their actions as eaters (and good people) speak for themselves.
None of the people (eaters) you met in Houston would lower themselves to the level of some of the comments here. Those people you met are some of the nicest guys (and gal) you could ever hope to meet. (That was one of the things that originally attracted me to CE (as a big time follower).
I only tell you thiis, because I can see you are a decent person and because you’re new to the eating scene, I just want to tell you what I know to be fairly true.

Hey thanks Rhonda,yes i dont sweat the small stuff,so far i have been having a blast in CE,just trying to self promote myself ya know,i have been in 2 events so far (i had to cancel doing Grits,or it would have been 3) and so far i have learned alot from other eaters and am amazed that they can eat so much ,so fast…..so far i got a tie for 7th place (or second to last) lol in my first event World Kolache Eating Championships,and i just got 3rd in Cornydogs at the State Fair of Texas,(at least i was told i got 3rd.i was one behind the guy who got 2nd) anyway even the rookies like me have been totally cool and informative,most people i eat against are normal people,i am not,im kinda likea scary Rob Zombie meets a serial Killer Klown,but in a nice way,haha,and even then people have been totally cool,i even try to give out the proper advice to new people,so far ive done 2 events,2 radio shows,and now 2 tv spots,so my self promoting is going well,hahaha….and yes im doing Waffles this weekend,where i will once again get my butt kicked by the pros and it will be a great time,i will gain even more knowledge of our sport and make new friends and hopefully get on tv for a third time,i cant eat well yet ,but i can stick out in a crowd very easy,so i have a gimmick,lol…i havent tried to eat waffles this fast yet,so my personal goal is 10,i would be happy with that,im still trying to figure out tricks of the trade at this point,anyway thanks for the support…….and as somebody posted before (i think it was Russell) you can tell the people that are real eaters,we have a mutaul respect for eachother and learn from eachother and enjoy going to the events and pushing ourselves to the limit,the people who are not real eaters are the ones who talk shit about whoever and whatever,for they dont have the skills to try CE,thats why they rag it and the eaters so much……….P.S…if you want to see my gimmick for Cornydogs (im gonna try and change it a little at a time for each event im in),there is a link for live coverage,im sure i will get lots of positive feedback from that,HAHAHA (they spelled my name wrong too,you cant have everything)…..yes i do know i look like that,thats also why i stick out in a crowd,thats the point,they even made me show my size 17 shoe to the crowd,which was pretty funny…for Waffles i will have a new gimmick maybe my evilKlown,dont know yet,anyway got go to the gym and get ready for Waffles, have a nice day

i dont know,i didnt know you couldnt compeat in both,im not a pro so im not under a contract of any kind that i know of,if your not supposed to do both,somebody let me know please,i just sign up for what is close to where i live so far,being that im totally a rookie,i dont see what it should matter,im not even close to winning any contests yet,im still learning,but it is nice to know i am making an impact on the CE scene…….and people please dont rag on Boone Fan,its an honest question,seriously if i am not supposed to enter MLE and independent contests please let me know,so i can correct it,im not on either side,i just like eating,promoting myself,meeting people,and dating asain girls :)…thanks

I don’t call myself a pro, others do that. It is not my primary source of income as it probably is w/ Joey & Kobe. If I was in that group, I would call myself a pro.
SyKoBOZO, you usually get a “bite or two at the apple” before you are forced to decide whether or not you will sign a contract. Unless you suck, then they might not care.

hahaha,i do suck at eating,i have only been in 2 contests so far,i dont even know what im doing yet,i just try,ive been a dj for 28 years now and in a pretty successful band so im used to being in front of big crowds and performing,and i stick out in a crowd,thats about all i got right now….i really didnt know that you werent supposed to eat at MLE events and at Indy events too,it shouldnt matter,anyone should be able to compeat anywhere,unless you have pissed off everyone who holds the events,business is business i guess,and from what i have read about you Joe,you are a pro,thanks for the imput,have a nice day 🙂
