Mentioning Janus in the same sentence as Joey Miki and Matt is quite funny.

@1:52
Tim Janus is a phenomenal eater. He is on par with Stonie and Bertoletti in hotdogs, and that says something. Sure nobody compares to Kobayashi or Chestnut, but eaters of their caliber are one in a million.

Have Stonie and Miki been in the same contest yet??

Sudo is already twice the eater Janus is and she just started. Also he might be close to Berty and Stonie in dogs but they would kill him in 90 percent of all other foods.

@ 4:54, You forget that in the order of personal bests at Nathan’s qualifiers, Stonie only ranks fifth, behind Joey (69), Kobayashi (66), Bertoletti (59), and Janus (53). Sudo isn’t even close.

Outside of Nathan’s Sudo will kick his ass in every contest. Where did Janus finish in his only meeting with Sudo?

Hot dog numbers mainly reflect the amount of time spent training. If eater A spends 50 hours doing dry runs and eater B only spends 15 hours; you are going to see a big difference in their totals. If someone doesn’t train at all he will not be competitive with those who do as I proved every time I took the stage. It is far easier to get by on natural ability with softer foods which require less chewing. That’s why I expect gyoza totals by Joey, Matt and Miki to be very close as they would have been in kimshi. I think competitions like these are more accurate in coming up with meaningful ratings.

Hey Ahhh, Miki and Megatoad competed against each other in asparagus back in April (Miki’s first appearance as a signed MLE eater).
Megatoad won while Jaws came second and Miki third.

Don’t bring that up Jackie. We need to help out this superstar and leave her past out of it.

We are lucky to have real eaters commenting here with their names like Locust. People making nasty comments about Locust and other eaters under false names have no credibility and just nasty people. Some are anonymous for good reasons. I am anonymous so maybe you think I have no credibility either. The main problem here isn’t with anonymous but with community standards which are too often not followed. It takes just a few rotten pickles to spoil the bunch.

She will never compete on the 4th. Norbitz will not allow it.

If that is true 553 then it is going to look real funny for the highest ranked woman in the world, and most pronounced Major League Eating Rookie of the Year ever, to not be featured in the showcase event. Questions will be asked by people who will demand honest answers, which will effect a day of reckoning for Nathans Hot Dogs and Major League Eating. Depending on the answers and whether or not she competes in a future 4th event could pull down both companies. It is a big, big, big risk for both. It will be real interesting to see how this plays out for Nathan’s Famous and MLE, as well as for Ms Sudo, whose resume probably wouldn’t land her a very good job in mainstream American industries, regardless of her degree from UNLV.

The naive opinion of 6:20 forgets that MLE depends upon Nathans, not the other way around. Yes, MIki is a problem but really, she is not going to cause the demise of either Nathans or MLE. They are both businesses, one is entertainment, the other is mega business. The economy and other things may affect Nathans, product problems, all kinds of global things. MLE is just a little part. Lots of hype on the 4th but they could change things completely at any time and still have a contest. It would just be different. Nothing is set in stone. Most people do not care who competes on the 4th if they care at all. Numbers wise, it is a very very small event.

Miki Sudo was looking forward to Nathans the same way you would if you were offered a role in a Broadway play. She received a phone call from either the Sheas or Norbitz asking her to sit it out. They probably told her to keep it under cover and offered her some $$$$ to make her happy.

834 you are ignorant. Of course it is Nathan’s that has the biggest risk. Duh. MLE is also taking a chance with her. The call came from one of the Sheas. Not Wayne. I didn’t forget anything. New York. Nathan’s Hot Dogs. The memory of 9:11. Public opinion. July 4th. American pride. There is a common thread there. Wayne Norbitz is not stupid and he will protect his interests. Miki may compete next year. It would be great for competitive eating. It’s a risk Mr. Norbitz will consider as long as she is around.
