Brad emailed that he had retired several weeks ago, but it was unclear if he wanted that publicized, so it was not announced on eatfeats.
update The reason for retirement Brad provided in his email was not health related.

I’m curious as to why the ifoce site takes their sweet time in posting articles on don lerman and krazy kev retirement but when brad sciullo who hasnt even gotten his feet wet in the league decides to retire from the sport, it draws immediate attention from the sheas and the article is posted right away

I think it’s because they don’t want him to retire, as he has the potential to be a really great eater (maybe one of the greatest), yet is so young. Because of his youth, by posting his retirement, maybe he will cave in to peer pressure and not fade away from CE.

Any one remember Seaver Miller? He did 3 contests, got ranked #10 and disappeared with out any big story from the fed.

Why must every eater be compared to someone else? Seaver and Brad were both top eaters in their own right for the very short time they did eat competitively.

Thats a ridiculous statement Dan. Both Seaver and Brad showed tremendous talent right out of the box. It’s scary how good they are. When potential greats and friends leave the sport, the rest of us want to hear about it. Just like when established Greats retire like Lerman, Lipsitz, Booker, Cookie & Hardy.
