Yardbarker blog entry about asparagus contest
Joey Chestnut has written an entry for his yardbarker blog about last Saturday’s contest at the Asparagus Festival in Stockton, CA. Joey is disappointed with his training and focus compared to 2007. He closes the entry with his thoughts on the official results:
In the end of this contest, I was given credit for eating 8.9 lbs of fried asparagus (I think I only ate about 8.3 lbs., and Pat was close behind). People that are new to Competitive Eating will learn that sometimes the numbers do not exactly add up, but it is rare for the actual placing to get screwed up. Pat did great and he would have edged me out, if there weren’t so many people pushing me to win in this contest. I don’t know if the video shows it, but I could feel myself respond to the cheers from the audience.

This blog is a brilliant window into the stomachs of the two greatest eaters of the new generation. The dynamic between these Frienimies is entertaining and fun. It would be an interesting documentary to follow their relationship over the course of the years circuit….as long as they are as revealing and truthful as Joey has just been.

Look at all the results stories on the IFOCE home page. Every one is about Joey Joey Joey. There’s one covering the Pigskin contest that Tim won. The rest of the entries are human interest stuff. You can tell where the IFOCE puts their money. Why don’t they just save time and run contests that they know Joey can win?

gurgibloggers – individuals who do more talking than actual eating
anonymussies – people who only blog under false names, afraid to reveal true identity
boonephite – losers that still think the indian idiot should be allowed into the IFOCE/AICE again.
whinerdiner – complainers that think every contest is rigged, and complain about results constantly, typically a gurgiblogger, and an anonymussy.
CAPITALIST PIGS – gurgibloggers that do not realize they have the caps lock button on
congratublogger – gurgiblogger that congratulate every eater on every contest

I’m definitely a gurgiblogger, and perhaps somewhat of a boonephite. Whinerdiners sicken me. I’d rather be a congratulablogger than a whinerdiner any day.
Here’s another one:
Menchettititis: A nonfatal disease, the affliction of which causes a gurgiblogger to become obsessed with the exploits of Gentleman Joe. Fortunately, I think we’re disease-free on this site … perhaps every site. 🙂
However, I am a fan of Joe’s, at least half of the time. 🙂

Linguisto you are a genius. “whinerdiner” and “congratublogg” are two in particular that make me sick especially the ones that congrat every eater on every contest. I can think of a few that engage in that constantly and it is irritating . However one of those congratublogger is truly genuine and posts on here from time to time. . The other is a female and i believe she is for the most part full of shit. The whinerdiner are usually shitty eaters that wont accept finishing dead last even after they have been shown the proof in the pudding a million times .
