New Poll: 2008 IFOCE rookie of the year (take 2)

The new poll asks who you think is currently leading the IFOCE Rookie of the Year race. Patrick Vandam was added to the choices from the 2008 Rookie of the Year poll from several months ago and Brad Sciullo and Tim Brown (due to being a candidate for the 2007 award) were removed.

Nasty Nate isn’t that bad, nor that good. He hasn’t improved at all since he’s been in competitions.

What qualifiers is he headed to? Not more than 16 dogs I’d guess

Nate just got 4th in Gyros and won $300,thats pretty damn good, and he got 4th in Matzah balls too – Strawberry Shortcake will tell you something, its going to be a pretty stacked field – i was voting him as most traveled eater of the year,he has been to more events cross country than anyone this year 🙂

Nasty Nate is a great up and coming young eater with many good years ahead to improve. He will definitely be a force.

Yet again the anonymous posts are the negative ones. I’ve never met Nate, but his numbers speak for themselves. Whether he is voted rookie of the year or not, he still is a good eater.

U.S.Male will earn votes in the Steel City hot dog qualifier. Traveling far and wide is nice, but eating lots inside is better. The Male will be delivered!

How exactly does Juris qualify as rookie of the year. He’s been around as long as Philly Pete. And Goldstein has been around for 2 years, Wing Bowl if I remember corectly. Vandam gets my vote

Are these most traveled eaters ifoce or anyone?

I believe Hickman has traveled to Japan 3 seperate times since December.

Do I need to post any of his other travels for him to win most traveled.

Or, do you have to pay for the travel yourself…If so, NeVeRmInD.

PVD is obviously a bit more naturally bless than Nate, but “The Nasty One” knows the road ahead of him. He will need to specialize in something to really make his mark. Like the 1st time JC hit Stockton, like some high-blotter Sunshine acid hitting Jerry Garcia… or when Boone hit that cow carcass in India w/ his mo-ped bike, or when George Shea punched out the soud technician for screwing up one of his jokes in 1999… Nasty Nate and PVD could compete in a “head to head…. Rookie of the year…Cookie Eating contest” and the bite-by-bite could be covered by none other than Ed “cookie” Jarvis

If Nate doesnt win rookie of the year i vote for him being class act of the year. He is right there with other notables in that department such as Crazy Legs, Pat Bertoletti Pretty Boy Davekos and Hall Hunt. There are other good guys in the IFOCE but these four are ones that made a lasting impression on me so far.

    Brian,
Thanks for those kind words. I have to say, its easy to be polite and courteous when you’re surrounded by such a good group of guys. I always thought it was best to respect the veterans, like yourself, admire the elite, and pump up the rookies and somewhat rookies/sophomores. A little long winded, but true. Good luck to everyone in 08′ and I hope to see you all at the Table!!
