I predict furious pete will sign with the ifoce in the very near future. The big money is too good to pass up. Dr J didnt stay in the ABA for very long because the money was with Phil76’ers and the NBA . ABA spells AICE NBA spells IFOCE

From those meatball results it is quite obvious that the inshape eaters are the ones that finish on top. . Menchetti is finished . He needs to lose weight or realize his time has passed.

Pete is great, no doubt. But I have a hard time thinking that he will become a FOOD DRINKER, simply because he is a great FOOD EATER.
ALL OF YOU IFOCE DRINK FANS NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM AICE’S NEW GOLDEN BOY.
Good luck food drinkers – why dont you just go dip a hot dog bun in water and give it to your grandmothers to eat.

Arnie,
In order to get dense food down you have to use liquids. It is boring to watch someone drink the whole contest if they could just dip food in water and eat more considering that is what people want to see – eating not drinking. AICE is the real drinking league if that is all you can focus on; bite, drink, bite, drink, bite, drink, boring and stupid. You are right that it is picnic style – slow, leisure, and boring, and the $500 purses reflect that.

Too much hate here, and the majority seems to be coming from the AICE camp. Excellent eaters at that contest, especially Pete. There is a good point to be made about food drinking. And it’s bull to watch the IFOCE pros hold a handful of food in front of their faces after the contest ends and then continue to eat it. Must say though that it’s kinda creepy having the AICE judges look around in your mouth. Glad they just looked in my mouth and not in anywhere else. It would be nice to see a middleground between AICE and IFOCE on the way eaters are allowed to end the contest. Lastly, wow… Arnie is an incredible hurricane of craziness on the stage, very different from Shea bros. I don’t think you’ll ever see the Shea brothers run off the stage to pour a bottle of water on their heads. I don’t think they perspire.

He says he was anorexic . A disease comparable with cancer. Some waste away to skin and bones others rebound and one in a million become competitive eaters. You have to give him alot of credit. When he eats it’s a treat for him because he is getting back all the nutrients he was deprived of when he suffered from the disease

Pete is the real deal, & should move into the Aice #1 spot.
My guess for the low #’s in Reuben’s (a record was set, but I coasted last yr., I predicted 8.5 for Furious Pete) is from the damage of the meatballs the night before. It affected me even though I still won the Bacci pizza eating contest, along w/the $1,500. prize.
Explain to me how you ifoce people can rank on Aice’s prize amounts when Pete won More for 1st than the entire purse @ the Casino in Oregon???
While there are some $500. & occasionally less contests in Aice as there are in the ifoce, comparitively if you take away 7/4 & mini burgers the prizes are becoming similar.
Aice has had more contests this year. You can’t count qualifiers! 15 qualifiers that end with a contest is ONE contest. Especially when you may or may not walk away with 60 lbs of dogs.
If you get paid $$$ for winning a qualifier, it may count seperately.

Pete is doing great, as are a lot of other eaters out there today. It doesn’t matter what people might think rankings would look like if there was just one group, because there isn’t just one group. Folks are happy in IFOCE and folks are happy in AICE. It would be great to see all of the best eaters eating against each other, but that just isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
How about we get this back to where it should be.
Pete – Great job on the Bartolini’s Meatballs and Pastrami Joe’s World Pastrami Eating Championship. You’re not too shabby for a Canadian. 😉

Wish I didn’t have to say this…but Eric “The Herald” Durst is Brad “The Lunatic” Sciullo. Uh oh did I say this?
If he didn’t start bragging that he was going to kick everyones ass at Meatballs then I wouldn’t say this. He treats his body like shit and his thoughts on training are just dangerous…I just think its funny that an IFOCE eater has to cover up to be in an AICE contest…
I don’t think I’m ‘the best’ in the world….I know I’m good, but I don’t train for these comps. I enjoy the travelling, meeting new people and just having fun. I won’t bash the next person beside me, in fact only encourage them on…I’d be happy to compete with top IFOCE guys…not because I have a chance with them but because it would be a fun competition!

Brad Schuillo like several other IFOCE Food Drinkers thought they could come to AICE and take our money and found out that actually eating your food is alot more difficult than they realized. Unlike the IFOCE who seeks to control the market and treat its Eaters like equipment (strangely, some of the Food Drinkers derive a strange fascination from being “owned” by the Sheas) AICE has always kept the door open for Eaters who realize the con game (Which includes this site) that the Shea brothers have been running for more than a decade.
I realize some of you idiot Food Drinkers think that “Furious Pete” will go to the IFOCE. Pete is a person (Unlike the large majority of Food Drinkers) who has a social life outside of CE along with other interests and hobbies. Pete is not interested in doing dumb stuff to his body so he can jam a few extra food items down his throat. He clearly understands that AICE is a safer alternative to IFOCE and is not interested in become an obsessed Food Drinker.
By the way, Boy-George and Tricky Dick O’Shea (OJ Rifkin) its the American Meatball Eating Champuionship. Your constant attempts at portraying AICE as a minor league Eating organization (as evidenced by this blog) is becoming predictable and tiresome.

Congratulations Pete! You are extremely talented and steadily improving. It’s not fair to Pete to put him on too lofty a pedestal at this time, however, and I think Pete would not vehemently disagree with me.
While Pete is an outstanding eater, he is far from being in the same class as a Koby, Joey, or Bertoletti, but who is? I do believe, however, that Pete, Goose, Ian, and Joe would be very competitive with the MLEs in the lower half of the IFOCE top 10, and that’s saying something in today’s CE world.

Good job Pete for reporting the truth. Now the cat is out of the bag and the Shea’s really look like shit with that idiotic article “Brad we hardly knew ya” . Boy what a weekend of hell for the IFOCE brass First they find out that a #22 ranked eater decides to enter and participate in an aice event and to make matters worse the prize pupil Brad Sciullo retires only to surface in an aice meatball contest. As George Shea would say . “Ohhh Ohhh I havent been this emotional since the birth of my firstborn”

That “food drinker” label doesn’t work with meatballs. You don’t dunk meatballs in either organization. Try eating 100 meatballs in 10 minutes (like Sonya Thomas or Humble Bob).
If you want to use that tone AMEC, be thankful that no one of their caliber were there–or Pat, or Joey, or Tim. Brad Sciullo wasn’t even a top 10 IFOCE eater.

Arnie,
The issue is not weather Pete is interested in the IFOCE, the issue is if he is allowed or not. Based on what has happened before it is doubtful he would even be forever prohibited from entering those events if he wanted to or not. Maybe it is because they don’t want to be exposed as not being the absolute best; maybe it is because they are the Majore Leagues and are absolutely certain no one from the minor leagues could ever do well at that level. Whatever the reason it comes across as unprofessional and discourteous
Brad was able to finish in the top half of the entire field. That is proof he is exremely talented. Very few people could have come anywhere close to 50% of what Pete did and Brad even surpassed that by a little. Great guy, hope to see more of him in the future

Well what do you know? STILL nothing but hate out here. Mostly a bunch of IFOCE no ones bickering about who is best.
MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD……Who gives a flying rubber rats ass……I mean seriously.
Pete put on a very impressive performance in Meatballs. He went in the 3rd of 3 heats……his meatballs were even colder than everyone else’s. That fact alone makes his victory that much more impressive. Great job Pete and it was good to finally meet you. Congrats on the Reubens as well…..I heard they were MUCH larger than last years. I thought it was especially funny that you kicked Joe out of “his” room at the hotel. ; )
Ignore the nay sayers…..you are truly a great eater who deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Kobi, Chestnut and Pat.
The true class guys in the IFOCE are their top guys…….all the jabs are from wannabees who have nothing better to do than to ride the shirt tails of the IFOCE upper ranks. Pretty weak minded individuals……especially when they come into our contests talking smack only to get half tracked. At least they knew better than to run their mouths after the competition.
I will say that meeting Justin Mih at sausage was a tribute to how the “good guys” of the IFOCE act. He is a stand up guy….wish we could have found him after the contest to knock a couple of cold ones back with us.
Great job again Pete. Superior performances on what so far has been AICE’s best weekend to date.
And for whoever is throwing shots at ARNIE about money that he has made from AICE forget about it. He gives WAY, WAY more to the eaters and their accomodations than he EVER pockets. I know for sure what his earnings from AICE are. He doesn’t make what his top eaters make on the contests. He does CE for the sheer pleasure of it………not for the money. I am sure the Shea’s make plenty because we have never seen them sitting at a CE table. No offense to them but it is a point that everyone should consider.
Spoken truly, as to be expected from me.

Joey B you have a point, for sure. My statement is simply my opinion. But when I look at the quantities of food eaten (even in the nondunking events) by Joey, Pat, Koby, Tim, and Sonya … Pete isn’t quite there yet.
Check out the records page at the IFOCE site and look at the nondunking foods like ribs, chicken wings, pulled pork bbq sandwiches, shoo-fly pie, strawberry shortcake, oysters, lobster, jalapeno peppers, turkey, cranberry sauce, hard-boiled eggs, grits, gyoza, bratwurst, etc, etc, etc.
I can’t envision Pete doing anything even close to those totals, at least not yet.
This is not a knock against him in any way. Pete’s new to CE and continues to improve. He seems to be as good as all those I mentioned above (except Koby) when they were in their first year.

I don’t think there is anything stopping the IFOCE eaters from going up against Pete (since this thread is about Pete) or any of the other AICE people, except the fact that they might not win. I’m not going to get into who might win what event or anything like that. It works out real good for the IFOCE folks that they can sit back and say that they aren’t allowed to do non-IFOCE events. What’s the IFOCE going to do if thier top 10 eaters say they are going to do an AICE event? Will the Sheas ban their money-makers? Will AICE let them eat, since they know the problems that it could cause for the eaters to eat outside of IFOCE and AICE is about the support the eaters?

I have heard—-I’m getting this second-hand, but I believe the source—- that more than a handful of the top ML eaters have consulted the Sheas to allow it, but to no avail.
Here’s an idea: Last year Joe and Elizabeth were allowed to try their hands at Krystals qualifiers. Why doesn’t Pete venture in and start off with a lightweight like Sonya during her qualifier. Then, once he topples her he can check out Pat Bertoletti.

Rhonda,
Rubber Gut & I weren’t really allowed in. We just showed up like everyone else w/out anyone from the ifoce there. I wasn’t allowed to do the 8 min qualifier, though I knew that was highly likely. I don’t recall if Elizabeth was allowed or not.
My guess is that the lovely (drool) Krystal Kitty & the rest of the Krystal gang, will be under orders not to allow that to happen again.

When will the Krystal qualifier dates be announced? I want to see Juliet eat this year.

He’ll be banned from 2 minute qualifiers too. Rubber Gut and Joe wouldn’t be allowed again either. It wasn’t supposed to happen. It won’t happen again.

And she’s since been banned.
It’s because no one knew who she was. How many contests did she have under her belt before that event? One? She had no history.

Or none. So she was IFOCE before she was AICE.
