She’s totally right. Intentionally reversing after contests is not always necessary. Sure it happens, sure some do it, sure it’s sometimes necessary. Some do it, some don’t. Some eaters never do it. If I have to explain this to you, you don’t know what you are doing. This is the least of your concerns in going against me. You will always lose against me and the other top eaters.

Nela is correct. Nothing fraudulent. Only real eaters understand.

Wanna be low-ranked eaters puke and still lose.

Obsession with saying all eaters reverse or lie about it saying they do not is silly. Kobayashi does not reverse. Many do not reverse, some do. It doesn’t have anything to do with being a great eater though. And reversing isn’t good for your health.

@12:37…exactly. There is this knee jerk reaction/obsession from people who don’t know what they are doing that reversing is a necessity to be a top eater. Completely not true. How do I know? Because I’m MLE, don’t reverse as a habit and have beaten every table-ender/newbie who has no idea what they are doing. Sure I tried it, many times…but it only hurt me and didn’t help. Many top eaters are exactly like me. If you think you have to reverse, you are wrong. If you are fat, it isn’t because you are 10 HDBs in that one qualifier (and failed miserably).. you are fat because you eat like shit every meal of your life and sit on your ass.

Wanna be low ranked eaters who are only good for 11 hotdogs don’t have to puke since they have no capacity.

oh give me a break, reversing feels really nice after eating so much food. Not sure why there’s pride involved with this.

Most eaters who can put up numbers North of 20 usually reverse just enough to feel normal. It’s better than passing all that Nathan’s crap through your system. For those few that do puny numbers like 11, a good burp or fart is all you need.

For a person who cuts her videos to make it look like she can eat she really is quite the storyteller. Her videos can be proven they were spliced.
As for reversing. She eats more than Wu does and has the boniest shoulders I’ve ever seen. Doesn’t reverse? Hahaha I almost believe her.

Some people just will not believe or even be open to the possibilities that people are telling the truth about not reversing, and that they are not doctoring their videos. If you watched every second of a video, it would be ridiculous, and even then, one can always pick and choose. This site should have a separate category for or be called Negativity.com

Here is a column by Rick Telander of the Chicago Sun Times claiming that backstage reversals after the Nathan’s final are common. He proposes that reversals up to eight hours after a contest has ended should result in disqualification.

The 0 comments is one clue that the article reached no one in particular, but then too many comments here are also absurd. That being said, to make a statement based on one experience is absurd. Secondly, the person already had their minds made up about competitive eating. This is poor journalism. You should not have a theory and then find “facts” to match your own theory. Lastly, the person is as impractical and absurd as could possibly be imagined. Having wardens to monitor potential reversals up to eight hours. Clearly this person is lacking in knowledge and intelligence. Foolishness, yet now I have written a long comment. That is because I disagree strongly with the journalist.

From personal experience i can tell you that a resident of Plainview LI would throw up immediately after every single eating contest he was in thinking he was getting it out of his system. Little did the HS grad realize that he was doing more damage to his intestines and throat by engaging in such stupidity

No joke, I saw Dr. Seiken throwing up his 3-4 cheese steak total in the Dorney park parking lot then he sped off because he had a date with a Russian call girl.
