I know there was some talk last year about MLE granting Joey Chestnut an opportunity to have a one-time, unofficial hot dog showdown with Kobayashi in honor of Nathan’s hundredth contest. Any chance that this is still on the table?

What’s the point ? Kobe had several rematches and lost all of them. Carmen & Matt would probably beat Kobe

Kobe’s hot dog record is 69 in 10min, Joey finished 70 at his last contest… seems like it’s still a close match-up to me. Neither Stonie or Carmen have come close to those totals, so I’m confident Kobe could still beat them. Though it will be cool to see how much Carmen has improved since his 42hdb debut last year.

I can’t believe that, even in a drunken state, Joey couldn’t say how much he misses competing against Beautiful Brian Seiken.

I heard when chestnut first came on scene he asked seiken for advice on training thinking seiken was some sort of champion eater. True story

In hotdogs Joey has never had the competition he got from Kobayashi. I am sure that Kobayashi would have loved a chance to compete and win against Joey. Unfortunately, his manager/friend and he did not understand the simple fact that he could not promote many brands of hotdogs at the same time. Kobayashi has never recovered his high reputation since leaving MLE. His choice and in my opinion, a very poor one.

Maggie dictates Kobe career

We know that. She is his girlfriend/friend and is completely unqualified to manage him. Her world is fashion, there she has experience. His English skills are still not up to the task of making better decisions on his own. It is a sad situation. His talent is surely not compromised, but he has no way to earn money and show his skills in a way which would make his career grow.

11:17 did you mean unqualified to manage him or marry him?

She is a fashion consultant and has never been a manager for someone like Kobayashi. He needs a good advisor as well.

Kobayashi can hate on the Sheas and tell everyone how evil and greedy they are but bottom line is that his career was essentially over when he decided to leave the ifoce. Furthermore he made more money as ifoce member and Sheas did more for him than anyone else in the organization

I do not think the Sheas want him or need him.
