Hey Mr. Made up undefeated challenge competed and won!? He made some gainz there it appears? Regardless of him being a big people user, seems a bit suspect he won. Yeah, he’s good irrespective of how phony and a user he is but not that good…maybe he is being mentored by the Sinewy Chewy? Bowl Gate! (TM)

Is sinewy chewy the one that used to claim he was her son? The independents that act like his friend but trash him to anyone willing to listen behind his back?

A Canadian takes the win and Webby comes close but seems more experience with the Canadian poutine paid off for Joel. MLE will need to revise their rankings as suspect we will see Joel move up the rankings with a close but hard fought win in the Canadian food group.

You know they won’t let Joel do any more contests with them unless he signs with MLE after beating their top guys.

So they put me on the waiting list and had Jim Reeves 6.5 lbs and Crazy Legs Conti 4.5 lbs come in from America instead?
    What a joke .

10:39 and 2:28–no one cares. Unless you are a proven eater with a social media presence or some other way to show that you are a solid competitor, MLE has no obligation to invite you instead of contract eaters like Conti and Reeves.

Who are you anyway? If you want to act like hot shit on eatfeats without saying your name, then no one is gonna respect you. In this sport/“profession”, words mean nothing—results are all that matter. Nobody cares about excuses of why you “didn’t do as good as you should have”. Put up, or shut up

@206 nick seemed pretty happy. He apparently still got paid to be there and be with his family. I’d guess he made more than most of the eaters that had to eat.

3:53 is exactly right. MLE eaters do many things besides participating in contests. They pay their own way and most collect no money. They give interviews sometimes about the contest (if they won) and sometimes about MLE or pre-contest. Joey Chestnut is a terrible presenter. Others are very good. Sign the contract, no matter where you place, it is your decision for whatever the personal reasons to continue to participate.

Tanner travels all that way and doesn’t make a dime in winnings…again. He’s “all-in” on competitive eating clearly. AKA, he’s addicted and can’t stop no matter how many times he finishes out of the money.

Good thing MLE does not actually name a “rookie of the year”-if that were given to Tanner, he’d probably be ecstatic and make some awful life choices as a result. Pretty pathetic that he’d even be considered as the best rookie–just goes to show that there has not been really any impressive new talent in MLE since Webby joined and stormed into the top ranks quickly.

@2pm — Tanner is gaining valuable experience at the table with other pro’s to find out what discipline/ speciality he is best at. Given the competition as of late, many eaters only register for their speciality in order to make the trip worthwhile. For an unknown eater, Tanner is doing good as there hasn’t been a lot of unknown eaters with limited social media presence not already on the eating scene

Apparently the sponsor organised Joel to be there. He wasn’t billed originally and Barclay only found out on the day.

8:34pm— that sounds about right. I was wondering if Joel somehow weaseled his way into the contest. He will probably do a “smokes challenge video” too, to help advertise their business (as if they need help).

7:35– Tanner had done at least 10 MLE contests by now, probably a dozen tbh. He had been doing independent contests for a while too. He’ll fit right into the average MLE eater lifestyle—travel 1000s of miles and spend tons of money each year to win almost nothing.

He should stop and he knows it. He is not going to threaten top 7 or 8 eaters.

When did Joel become able to beat Esper??

  31. Anonymous said

They brought Joel in because they wanted one of the Canadian citizens in the spotlight instead of a con artist. This is not a coincidence.

Nick did not pull out last minute. He was never on the roster to compete. But I Sounds like his “suspension” is over, so expect him to be at most/all the upcoming contests.

Tanner beat chiger. That’s great! Isn’t he supposed to be the guy with a huge capacity? Then he goes and does a challenge right after. Maybe you should have used some of that space at the contest

  35. Anonymous said

    August 13, 2024 @ 4:05 pm

If beating Chiger is impressive, then there’s a lot more impressive eaters out there than I thought. Webb is the only person I’ve seen that can easily do a challenge before the contest, and another again right after, AND still manage to get first or 2nd place at the contest. But anyone that is doing a challenge day before a contest just shows that there not really trying hard at all to do their best in said contest. IDC who you are, all else being equal, doing a food challenge day before a contest will negatively impact your performance 99% of the time.
