New poll: top picnic style eater

The new poll asks who you think is the world’s top picnic style (non-dunking) eater. As Rhonda Evans noted in a comment, dunking was not allowed in the Stroehmann Sandwich Slamm.

    Furious Pete.
Not really much to think about here.

Furious Pete is the best at that in the AICE. And I’m not saying this to knock him —- Pete’s fantastic! But there’s no way he could be expected to hang with Pat Bertoletti in nondunking events. The IFOCE has their fair share of them, and look at the numbers.

Just because a CE body doesn’t mandate the use of picnic-style rules in every contest, that in no way indicates that its eaters don’t or can’t excel at them—-and vice-versa.

Example: I don’t know who’s going to oysters in April (another nondunking food), but if somehow Pat and Sonya both showed up, if the contest is a full 10 minutes, I’d expect the two of them to down 1,000. (I’m neither dreaming, nor is that a misprint.) Sonya’s already done 552 in 10 minutes, and I’m sure Pat can eat close to 500, so there you have it.

    I got an idea.
How bout any eater can enter any contest regardless of who they are or what they do or who they know.
First to sign up, first to compete.

WHO’S WITH ME ON THIS ONE????????
    ANYONE?????????????

That’s a great idea Paul, but it’s about eight years old and counting, and to no avail.

Let’s all be honest about this one. It doesn’t take much to figure this one out. One org. makes you get permission to eat and makes you sign a contract and the other one is independent. So is the problem
AICE or IFOCE, I’ll help the slow ones who can’t figure it out it’s the IFOCE.

So to answer your question Paul it would be nice to compete in any contest but it will never happen in the IFOCE.

    Hey, things can change.
Im not a great eater, I just wanna eat.
I know that it is “competitive” eating but it is still just eating. I really think that there is way too much red tape, mini-politics, and shit slinging to even be any fun anymore.
Its just eating! Its supposed to be fun!
    I hope things change.

I couldn’t agree with you more, but it is what it is I would like to see some guys from AICE go against some IFOCE eaters but the Sheas won’t let it. I don’t think Chapman would be against it.

I think fear is the only thing that keeps thing from changing.
I wanna see a sport that has “NO FEAR!”

This could be like the Army/Navy game.
    Even better……………………………………. Like the old
    Negro Leagues VS MLB.
It would be mighty tough without Ian and Gentelman Joe.
But with F-Pete, M-Vacuum, K-Kuhns, P-Maruzio and the Rubberiest Gut I think we could put up a fight.

    Keep up the “dream” Paul.

P.S. I would personally like to see 2 things.

1.) A top 50 eaters list. (AICE and IFOCE eaters only, just because every Jap would take up the 50 spots)
2.) “The Furious One” VS. Chestnut or better yet Mr. Patrick Bertoletti.

Seeing the video of Joey and that burrito proves he can put it away picnic style also. Pat kicks ass picnic style. FPete has shown he is head and shoulders above anyone in AICE in their short contests. Joe has seen his day…..Goose can’t hang w/FP….Ian is done….Kuhns has gotten MUCH, MUCH faster and doesn’t have a bottom…..ML appears to be on his way out.

Kuhns over FP in anything over 12min. FP is UNBELIEVABLE out of the gate. Pat and Joey are still trading blows. I think Kuhns could be better than ANYONE in IFOCE type contests, i.e. longer with dunking. Toss up between the other three…..Bob Kuhns is a severely underestimated talent in AICE who continues to hone his game as he gets more active in AICE. Goose’s work schedule seems to be holding him back from competing more and his capacity is suspect. Sorry Goose but you need to step it up to get your respect back.

Depends on the type of contest and duration. Definitely a toss up between those four horsemen. They are the cream of CE, anyone who disputes that doesn’t know their ass from their elbow.

IN TOUCH AND IN THE KNOW
