The New York Daily News has a report on yesterday’s cupcake eating contest held at Ivy Bakery in Brooklyn. Results listed:

1. Nancy Cummings, 17 cupcakes in 5 minutes,
2. Dominick Ibelli, 16 cupcakes
? Jo Rose

    I don’t know who was doing the counting,but at the end I had 10 cupcakes left on my tray(out of 24),&she had 9.Maybe they counted the one in my mouth, but I thought I came in 2nd.Not that it matters-it just goes to show how bad I suck.

    Ah … don’t put yourself down like that. You gave it a shot, and that speaks well of you on its own. Besides, no one would suck worse than me (at things in general).

    Just ask any anonymous person (or thing) on this site. They’ll confirm it. 🙂

    Hey there — I had 7 cupcakes on my tray at the end — so, I had eaten 17. Whatever, it was all just for fun and charity!

    Gavonne, there weren’t 24 on the tray, there were 20. I didn’t even notice until someone told me. I thought I’d eaten 16. They kept four off of each in case of a tie, to go to sudden death. She had seven left when done, she ate 13, I had eight left and ate 12. That gal was a machine, she did like five in the first minute! And apparently she really, REALLY loves cupcakes. Guess I’ll start doing some yoga in prep for next year 😉

    This was right in the hood and I couldn’t attend 🙁
    Hopefully I’ll be able to attend next year.
    Went there on Sunday and the cupcakes were tremendous.

    Didn’t mean any sour grapes,I was so sick afterward that I really didn’t want to talk to anyone,especially the Daily News reporter who got everything about me wrong(except the quote),probably why he labeled me a “failed competitor”.Congratulations Nancy!

    It figures that bore will the chump would have to put his 2 cents in about a contest he wasn’t even at since he can’t take a crap without twittering about it.
