Ian Hickman unretires, wins DC cupcake contest

Youtube has a video of the cupcake eating contest held at the grand opening celebration of Cupcakes Today in Fairfax, VA. Ian Hickman, whose retirement was announced in January, won the contest by eating 12 cupcakes in 1:47. James “Big Bess” Besser was the runner-up.

    Ian has always been one of the best in AICE, it would be great to see him and Pete as well as other AICE guys against Joey, Pat, Tim and the IFOCE guys

    Ian is the Brett Favre of competitive eating. He may retire now and then, but he’ll always be back. Eating is in his blood!

    My guess is that he appeared since it’s local and might have even been requested. At any rate, congrats Ian. Come out to Strawberries and at least hang 🙂

    I think Ian’s professed “retirement” was just a nice way of saying he was retiring from AICE/APE contests.
