Go! Go! Curry! finals poster

The Japanese language blog for Go! Go! Curry! has a poster of the five curry eating contest finalists mentioning that three of the competitors have previously competed in the Nathan’s finals.

The contest will be webcast on http://www.justin.tv/gogocurryusa on Saturday.

update Go! Go! Curry! is looking for volunteers for the contest.

    That is so freaking cool. Making me regret not being able to enter the contest even more.

    Paul my friend, you gotta pull off the upset. I think it would be the greatest win of all time.

    My heart wants Moses to win. The loud mouth in me says Dale Boone. The upstart side of me says Paul Arcaria. The maverick in me says Joe Menchetti, and the pull-for-the-underdog part of me says Mr. Tomito. So I’m in another quandary. I don’t know who will take it.

    If I had to bet, I’d take Dale Boone, because I believe Dale will do what it takes to win, and stomach capacity will not be a factor.

    Don Lerman, Do unto Boone before Boone does it to you. Be confortational, talk about anything that will annoy him. Talk about him losing to Carlene ( his saw point ) and that goes for all the competators. He really intimidates people,and thats 50% of his game.Send him back to India a loser…..do it

    I have to say that the biggest part of Dale’s game by far IS the braggadocio, the empty arrogant talk prior to the event. He is the best at it in the world of competitive eating so why not?

    In Dale’s mind not getting his licks in before the event is a tragedy, a lost opportunity. So he is damn sure going to take advantage of it.

    I may not like his pre-contest antics, but I don’t blame him. That’s the way the man is built and he does sell his game. People, in general, attend to those that talk a lot, and not so much to those that don’t.

    Dale’s just making up for all those timid fellows.

    If lerman loses watch him come up with some kind of excuse that his dentures werent on properly or hes still hurting from surgery and that this is his absolute last contest he will ever do blah blah . With excuses like that , how could he possibly lose

    Rohonda, you have never been in a contest with Boone, trash talk is ok but he goes over the limit. When you call somebody an old hag and then someone else’s heritage , well there is no place for this in CE. He will get his day in Brooklyn

    Anyway, Anony-1:50, I appreciate what you’re saying. Yes, Boone is obnoxious in public. But today that sells. That’s what attracts people.

    Few people attend to nice, sweet, kind (boring) characters. Most want to see flaming assh***s —-characters they can enjoy hating. (i.e. J. R. Ewing, Dale Boone).

    Also. this is one of the few contests Dale really has a chance to win against better overall eaters.

    This event was tailor-made for Dale Boone, and he will strut!

    North Pole … uh … uh … I watched reruns with my parents.

    I couldn’t live with Tina … literally. She kept wanting a North Pole and finally left me. Of course our separation cut down on the cost of batteries. So things sort of worked themselves out.

    Anoynymous, with the little “a.” I bet in a 10- or 12-minute contest at most foods at least two others in that contest are better (to include Moses), because when Boone gets full he reverses … but that’s not the case here, so why conjecture?

    The only “upset” that Boone came close to in the US Open against Janus was upsetting the contents of his stomach all over the table in front of him.
