NYC dumpling contest to offer $1K men’s & women’s purses
(from AICE news) There will be a Chinese dumpling eating contest at the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens on August 13. Women’s and men’s purses of $1,000 ($500 1st, $300 2nd, $200 3rd) will be offered. Last year’s female second place ate only about 11 dumplings in two minutes (the female winner, Floria Lee, almost tied the male runners up), so Gothamite trencherwomen interested in winning $300 might want to check this event out.

I mean will the Shea brothers allow them to go, not the event host. We all know that most eaters at the IFOCE are kept on a tight leash. Only allowed to play when Daddy says it’s OK.
