But what if the person is scared to get rid of it?

That’s true, but they should be more scared what happens if they DONT get rid of it. Up to a gallon with some added electrolytes any You’ll probably be okay, you’ll just be pissing all day. More than that and you definitely want to get it out asap

I would be worried about the pressure that the daily puking puts on the blood vessels in your brain. It seems like an excellent way to create a brain aneurysm, which could eventually burst and kill you.

If a gallon of water is ingested into an average sized stomach and not puked up within a few minutes, it will most certainly pass into the intestines and out like a reverse enema.

Also a very good point, but when it comes down to it what do you think is worse? Potential hyponatremia or risk of brain aneurism someday? And if you have been water training for a while you can do a gallon and leave it in if you add electrolytes, won’t be a reverse enema but you will urinate quite a bit

Is it worth your life? I guess it is because some of these very disturbed individuals feel they are doing it for the love of the sport

OR one could just “train” using whole foods. 🙂

That is true, but how many in the MLE actually do that? A lot more time/effort plus that’s even more calories on top of what they are doing when they compete. Although I agree with you Erik that is probably the safest and healthiest way to do it.

Innocent question: does Erik vomit the food up after a contest, training session, or cheat day? Most competitive eaters say they don’t, but they really do. There is no way all the dieting and exercising in the world could keep up with the calories they ingest.
Another example: Sonya claims she eats at buffets each day. Is this true?

Not sure. And yeah that’s the way it usually goes I think. Either that or ingesting that many calories in a short span of time, perhaps your body has no chance of absorbing all of them before they exit the body.

@2:15
You seem to be “unfamiliar” with the fact that MOST eaters are active individuals and simply move more than the average person.
