In the latest Airrack video, 50 competitive eaters were invited to dine at a Los Angeles Golden Corral buffet. Participants included Chris "Old Guy Eats" Dale, "Your Man Cody" Cody Dulaney, Naader Reda, Raina Huang, Cherish Brown, Josh Krady, Kyle Hanner, Katie Prettyman, Sean Nichols, Moh Motion, Gal Akbari, Will Morse and Teddy Delcruz. All diners were weighed before and after their meal; the aggregate weigh gain was 500 pounds. update ShastaFood has a behind the scenes video of the event.

“50 competitive eaters” What a joke. It was a puke fest I heard. The fact the worst person representing eating got a lot of shots in the video says it all. Thanks to all the low-level “competitive” eater wannabes representing!

Not a chance in hades. 500 lbs with nobodies and people nobody has seen before. The real eaters on here would never think this is real. 10 lbs average per person. Unrealistic. Krady can’t finish an 8 lb challenge. Half the people on the video probably couldn’t do 5 lbs. This is sad. I’m proud to see the actual professional eaters declined to invest wasted time in this.

It’s a shame a major focus on this video was one of the most deceiving, conniving, frauds in competitive eating. Also the 500lbs was definitely not accurate. Many of the eaters were in the bathroom puking up everything they ate, and half the people that were there can’t eat more than 5lbs.

I get why Stonie stayed away as he doesn’t need subs or a free trip and would make more with his own video. I don’t get why smaller and medium channels passed up the opportunity. I bet they would have been featured had they attended and probably would have gotten more eyes on their channels.

I didnt see anybody puking in the bathroom myself. But I can attest I wasnt weighed before hand but was after. that 500lbs is probably not accurate. I know i drank a lot and liquid weight adds up faster. But yea 10lbs on average is pushing it considering there wasnt 50 of us. more like 35

Moh and Raina were both caught getting up multiple times and going to the bathroom.
Also hilarious they featured Josh the goat saying he was gonna eat 10-12 lbs. that guy can’t even finish an 8lb food challenge.
Also to the guy saying you’re wondering why small and medium channels passed up the opportunity. What opportunity? No one that went there had had any increase in their YouTube channel subs. And that’s because No one cares. I know most of the people who went there thought it was gonna be a great opportunity to get rich and famous. Well guess what? It wasn’t. When will people get the hint that food content on YouTube is over saturated?

9:33 – They never will. Tons of delusional people out there who have no idea about a market that has been fully saturated for quite a while. It is not different from other “things” on YouTube as well. Just like cell phones, for example, try and break into that market right now with a phone. No way. The iPhone of the eating world is of course Beard. Randy is probably analogous to Android. These people spending all this money on camera setups, etc. is just funny to watch.

Who cares if they went to the bathroom either. All the top eaters who didn’t go have puked way more than these people. LOVE THE HYPOCRISY!!!! Well, the video itself has 1.4 million views. A quick check of Social Blade and the new subs came in like crazy to a few of the “competitive eaters”. Massive new subs and views. Going to make them famous. TEN new subs. Don’t give up your day jobs.

If you win an MLE contest, or even get second place, and DONT have to throw up afterwards, then the top eaters didn’t attend or it wasn’t a capacity contest. Try eating as fast as possible for 8 or 10 minutes, drinking at least a gallon of water in the same amount of time, and see how you feel. Most MLE eaters aren’t going to buffets and running back and forth to the bathroom to “train”, since that wouldn’t emulate any kind of sanctioned eating event.
Not that they are better or worse humans for puking post-contest, but it’s pretty much a necessity if you’re gonna compete against the best eaters in the world/USA.

I’m really surprised that Gal Akbari went to this. She definitely didn’t need to do this as a “way to gain subscribers”. Then again, I’m pretty sure she is purging most of her meals, just given the insane amount of high-calorie content she is putting out on a very frequent basis. I assume she doesn’t have malabsorption or hyperthyroidism, though…
