What I really think needs to happen, is that Rich LeFevre go to Japan and challenge a couple of these eaters to a capacity competition like this one. Mmm, udon.

I love these crazy Japanese eating shows you find. Nobody ever seems to be in a hurry, it’s sort of like turning on a webcam and watching an American family kill a Thanksgiving Dinner in 30 minutes. Everybody wants thirds on the stuffing because I made it, and it’s damn good.
The David and Golith pairing of Shirota and Ga Sone is a visually pleasing contrast, and I wonder how cool it would be to have Cookie Jarvis and Eric Booker sit down with the LeFevre’s for an hour long casual meal at the Old Country Buffet.
I’d be drinking coffee in the next booth listening to the constant clink of forks and plates and talk of CE Gossip. The manager would pace the buffet line nervously…..and we’d all think with wonder…’someday, I’ll be able to eat like that…’

udon noodle can be bought in a package pre cooked in any chinese market for about a dollar a pack. make it with some chicken broth and its very tasty. i assume 5lb trays were brought out for the both of them. It reminded me of the Beatles movie magical mystery tour when paul is on the bus dreaming about a waiter bringing his aunt jessie tons and tons of noodles and she begs “please no more”
