BB TV 2008 season debut available

The first episode of “Beautiful” Brian’s video podcast of 2008 is now on line. The guests are Mike Devito, Ed Krachie and Jill Stoler. In bits & pieces, Brian says that Krachie calls Don Lerman and Rich LeFevre mediocre eaters. Don Lerman has a response to Krachie on his blog. Krachie’s 1996 record of 22 HDB ties Lerman’s mark at his last Nathan’s contest and is 12 behind LeFevre’s personal best.

Jill Stoler has her personal 2007 highlights in competitive eating on her blog which close with being interviewed by “Beautiful” Brian.

updateThe video was taken down last evening, but has been restored on a new page

If you watch the show in its entirety i think krachies comment just came out the wrong way. He said it real fast and didnt mean it in a vicious way. I dont think he really got a chance to follow Lefevre and Don’s career because they put up numbers that to this day are unreal. Very few if any can eat 6lbs of beans in 1:46 and noone can consume chilli and spam the way the locust can. Krachie also placed Krazy Kev in the mediocre category and mentioned his name more than once but then again he was generalizing more than anything and not really taking potshots against individual eaters. He had nothing but praise for Ed Jarvis . He also believes that George might still hold a grudge because he walked off the bus before the 2001 finals. I tend to doubt that. Krachie still thinks the Sheas are the greatest promoters he’s ever met. The interview was so long i had to cut 10 to 12minutes out. I will post the edited portions as bonus footage sometime next month.

i saw the show . Around the 1hr 18 min mark Seiken refers to the names mentioned above as legends and Krachie calls them legends or eaters that never won the big dance.

wow, a new season of complaints, rumors, grudges, whining, made-up facts, and enhanced interpretation of BB ‘s past semi-accomplishments with that stunning set background

I thought the show was well-done Brian. I enjoyed all of the video clips and the commentary from
both Ed and Mike who gave some great insight to what it was like in the beginning of what it is today. It is really surreal to look back at things when the media hype was just stating to grasp the Nathan’s contest and how no one knew what would come next. It is also very telling as to why Nathan’s will always be the biggest eating event there is, at least it would take a lot in order to displace the contest with so much history.

I don’t think Krachie was calling anyone out to be insulting either he just was saying that he wouldn’t compete if he knew he couldn’t win unlike some other people. I can appreciate that.

Thanks Erik. Im glad you were able to view the entire show. I had to take it down because some fans were telling me its cutting off after 30 min. Its only when i viewed the problem on my end that i took it down temporarily. I hope to have it back up in a day or two. I would appreciate feedback from others that were able to actually view it in its entirety. Not so much on the content of the show but i just to let me know if there were any technical difficulties on their end attempting to view it. Better communication amongst the fans and myself helps to correct the glitches in the system thanks
