Brian… you guys look like father and son in that picture… is there an Illegitimate child you’re not telling us about? If pete can’t take the ridicule from the fans he should not compete in the big shows. I would never have bagged on him about his nathan’s qualifier if he hadn’t taken a spot from a more deserving eater in the triprewards wings contest. Are you defending him because you see some of you trouble childhood in his. And the dude is like 20 something… hasn’t hit puberty? Can’t shave? If those are true he has worse problems than those in the world of CE…

hey idiot..what makes any eater more deserving than the next..ifoce reserves some spots to whoever they want and the other open spots are first come..ifoce didnt think bob or whoever deserved it so there..pete got it..you want to see the same boring people over and over..

Taking spots of more deserving eaters? Why, who is complaining about not being able to compete?
Pete can take it. He likes the attention, and is more of a man than many of these fans who have nothing better to do than make fun of someone, so I wouldn’t worry about his feelings getting hurt. There is a couple of people though that should knock it off if they are just going to post anonymous comments and hide in the dark. How freakin hard is it to register on here?

Brian I applaud you sticking up for Philly Guy. He had as much right to be at Trip Rewards wings as any eater at that table. Had I been him I would not have given up my spot either. Furthermore, I would have little respect for any higher ranked eater that expected me to give it up (and I know for a fact that was not the case.)

If entry into all contests in the IFOCE were based on ranking there would be not more than 2 dozen eaters in the Federation; and of those, eaters ranked below the top 10 would participate in about two contests per year, if they were lucky.

Yeah, Pete is a great guy. I’ve met him several times and we’ve hung out in Philly putting away some cheesesteaks. He’s passionate about the sport and has a lot of respect for those who have come before him and that counts for a lot. As for whether he “deserved” to be at the wings table when Humble Bob was an alternate, you’re damn right he deserved it. Entry at the table is first come, first served, so the only people who deserve to be there are the people who sign up first. Besides, we all know the IFOCE sets aside three to five spots for top ranked eaters (and they should), so Bob had plenty of opportunity to get a spot at the table.

Honestly, I don’t think Bob was really an “alternate” or had any desire to eat in that contest. If he did, all he’d have to say is “Yeah, save me a spot.” I think they just announced him as an alternate just to prove that “yes, this stuff really is first come, first served…see, here’s a top 10 eater who didn’t make it in on time.”

Just to give everybody an update, I hit puberty during the Philly Qualifier. The urge to chase women and be embarassed by my parents kicked in and distracted me from my eating. Sorry Brian, I know what you were getting at, but i had to say it. Thanks for the support. If you must bash someone, bash me. I think it’ll help me get some attention and ranked. I feel like I died. Lets start this party with some good old fashioned bashing. I hear I get full after one pint during water training LAWLZ!!!!1@!!

I gave pete a little bit of a hard time, but I have nothing personal against him. He did 13.5 dogs at the philly nathan’s qualifier and that’s pretty damn good for the amount of experience that harmless goofy kid has. If I offended you pete, I’m sorry, but I just believe that certain upper echelon events should be reserved for only the very top eaters (invitationals) or have those events have qualifiers (like nathans). I am all for seeing fresh blood in the other competitions but I just think the flagship events with the best prizes should be saved for those who have brought it to the table. But what’s done is done, and I hope pete continues his progression. We should all just drop this and look on the CE future events… I hope you get in some more nathan’s qualifiers pete.

Philly Guy deserved to be there just like any other up and coming eater. Pete is the future and its up to the older lions to teach the young lions how to eat. Stay Hungry and Focused Pete. Hone your skills and make believers out of the haters.

Pete is a class act and unlike others he has a sense of humor which you must have to succeed in this biz. To say we look like father and son is an honor and a privilege. I thank you . That pic was taken along with Eater X Jr but i cropped him out because he really looks 14 yrs old. Anyone remember him?

So what if one person looks like anothe and many toimes thats very complimentary. Sonya and Juliet look like most other Japanese females and many of them are very attractive. Liz looks alot like that woman from the old west. I think her name was big nosed Kate and she hung around with Doc Holiday and she was a fairly attractive woman to.

Thanks Rona! That’s right. Some folks’ entire world extends no farther than their own egocentric world–mentally, emotionally, and geographically. Some have never even been out of the states, which is such a very small part of this world. That’s sad, because their focus is so tunneled and limited.

Also, it is certainly no slight against Joey not beating Koby, because Kobayashi is at the greatest level of any sportsman, and it’s not even fair to Joey to expect him to beat Koby. Joey is a great, great eater, regardless of how many hot dogs separate him from Koby on July 4th. Joey must be proud to even be compared to Koby.

Koby’s days as the champion are numbered big time! Joey’s got a lot to gain by bringing the Mustard belt back!!! Trust me on this one he is training harder then Koby right now. Certain people on this site will be eating there words come the fourth of July!!

Liz looks like “big nosed Kate” from the wild west. I’m sure she love that comparison!

I can eat more words than hot dogs, that’s for sure. I look forward to the opprtunity “Oh Great One,” but I’m quite sure I’ll be on a diction diet after the contest.

Great one, Joey has alot to gain for who? For himself and noone else. If ESPN were not involved the publicity for this event would be restricted to local news casts and local periodicals. Only several people wearing sportsjackets cash in big on this event and we all know who they are

    Dear eatfeaters,
I have never worn a sport coat to an event, I have worn lots of kick ass hats, and have no cash. Does this mean I should wear a coat, and no hat? And, what pants will make me the richest…is this the key to my improvement, wealth, and fame?
